Lyallpur Khalsa College organizes Inter-Staff Volleyball League-2025

A Volleyball League-2025 was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by the Department of Physical Education and Sports in which staff of the college participated enthusiastically. Three teams LKC Warriors, LKC Fighters and LKC Spartans were formed in this league tournament which included members of both teaching and non teaching faculty. At the beginning, the players were introduced to Principal Dr. Suman Chopra. Lyallpur Khalsa College won the First Runner-up General Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University Sports

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for achievements in the field of academics as well as in the field of sports. In the same series, the college has created a record by winning the Inter College First Runner Up General Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated the Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr. Rashpal Singh, Dean Sports, on this achievement. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that in the special event held at Guru Nanak Dev University, the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Dr. Karamjit Singh and various officials presented the trophy to the college. Recently, Dharam Raj, a student of Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports Part I of the college, won a silver medal in the North/East University Weight Lifting Competition and a bronze medal in the All India Inter University Competition. Rohit, a BA student of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar bagged gold medal in Judo Inter-college competitions organized by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Apart from this student has won gold medal in 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diya' held at Mansa and also bagged silver medal at Senior State Championship. Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar has won Guru Nanak Dev University Inter College Football Championship. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated college Dean Sports Dr. Rashpal Singh, Coach Sh. Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar organized inter-college football competition at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Today, the first match was played between the teams of Khalsa College Amritsar and Guru Nanak College Phagwara, in which Khalsa College, Amritsar won by 4-0. Today was a very proud day for Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar when three students of the college Gurjot Singh, Arshdeep Singh and Princedeep Singh were selected for the Junior Hockey Asia Cup. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh expressed happiness with the staff members present on this occasion and said that from time to time the college has given very capable players to the Indian hockey team. The 75th Senior State Football Championship organized by the District Football Association at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar was concluded today with great fanfare. 75th Senior State Football Championship is  being organized by District Football Association at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. S. Senior State Football Championship began in Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar today organized by district Football Association Jalandhar the championship was inaugurated by Mr Perfect Singh the MLA Jalandhar Cantt and the former captain of Indian hockey team and S. Jaspal Singh Waraich , Joint Sectetary College Governing Council.  In the opening match of this Championship , the football team of  Nawanshahar defeated DFA Ropar by 3-1.  Karandeep of the winning team was declared the best player for scoring a hat trick in the match. Punjab State Football League match was played at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. On this occasion Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar was the chief guest and Mr. Balwinder Kumar Rana was the special guest. The Punjab Sports Department organized two-day selection trials at Lyallpur Khalsa College

  Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, which has made a distinct identity in the field of sports, was the venue chosen by the Punjab Sports Department to organize football and handball trials for boys and girls for the session 2024-25. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dean Sports Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Selection Committee Members and Coaches introduced themselves to the football players. About 200 sportsmen and players from Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, DAV College Jalandhar, Mohan Lal Uppal DAV College Phagwara, Sikh National College Banga and Khalsa College Amritsar participated in these trials. A three-day sports trial was started at the college to select the players for the new session 2024-25. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh specially attended these sports trials. On this occasion, he welcomed the sports students to join the college, wished them well and encouraged them to appear in trials with full sports spirit and dedication. He told the students that as true sportspersons if they dedicate themselves to sports and perform for the college, the college will provide them every possible facility. He said that on the first, second and third day of the sports trials, there were trials of various sports in which about 450 sportsmen and students gave trials. Lyallpur Khalsa College will conduct sports trials for the upcoming session 2024-25 on dates 06, 07 and 08 June 2024 in the S. Balbir Singh Sports Stadium of the college. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh notified that sportsmen for Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing and Volleyball can appear for trials on the opening day of June 06. On 07 June, trials shall be conducted for Hockey, Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Handball, and Karate. On 8th June, the third and final day of the trials, Football, Baseball, Kho-Kho, Tennis and Cricket trials shall be held. He informed that graduate and higher secondary cleared candidates can report for these trials at 9 am sharp in their sports kit with original documents whilst assuring best facilities for promising sportsmen as an encouragement on behalf of the college.
