Annual Sports Day for staff members organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.

In a remarkable display of institutional commitment to staff welfare and physical fitness, the Department of Physical Education & Sports at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a series of sporting events today, featuring the Staff Volleyball League 2026 for male staff and exclusive Fun and Fitness Events including musical chairs for female staff members.The day began with the high-energy Staff Volleyball League, where three teams—LKC Warriors, LKC Fighters, and LKC Spartans—competed in a round-robin format. The matches witnessed thrilling rallies and exceptional sportsmanship, underscoring the college's belief in holistic development beyond academics. The commentary for the matches was expertly handled by Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, and Prof. Satpal Singh, who kept the spirits high with their lively narration. LKC Spartans were the champions, first runner-up were LKC Warriors and second runner-up were LKC Fighters.In a special initiative to promote fitness among women, the department organized exclusive Fun and Fitness Events for female staff members. Four enthusiastic teams participated in a series of engaging activities designed to foster teamwork, health, and camaraderie. The teams, comprising faculty and support staff, brought vibrant energy to the volleyball ground:

Fun and Fitness teams, Luna Lionesses claiming the top position, followed by the Thunder Queens and then the Fearless Fairies, each demonstrating incredible spirit and enthusiasm throughout the competition. In the individual musical chair competition, Dr. Balraj Kaur, Head of English department emerged as the winner, followed by Ms. Rani (Non-Teaching), who secured second position and Prof. Manju Joshi, who secured third position.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, remarked, "At Lyallpur Khalsa College, we believe that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. It is heartening to see our staff, both teaching and non-teaching, come together and participate wholeheartedly in these fitness initiatives. Such events strengthen the bond within our community and set a positive example for our students. I appreciate the energy and enthusiasm shown by everyone today."Adding to the sentiment, the Dean, Sports, Dr. Simranjeet Singh Bains, stated, "Our goal is to create an inclusive sports culture on campus. ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਜਿਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖੋ- ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰੀਰਿਕ ਫਿਟਨੈਸ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਸਰੀਰਿਕ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਵੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ (ਮੈਨਜ਼) ਦੇ ਵਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਦੇ ਮੈਚ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਐਲ.ਕੇ.ਸੀ ਸਪਾਰਟਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਲ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ. ਫਾਈਟਰ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਣਾਇਕ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡਿਆ। ਇਨਾਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਆਰਫ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੋਈ। ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਕਰਵਾਈ। ਡਾ. ਬੈਂਸ ਸ਼ੀਨ ਸਪੋਟਰਸ ਦੀ ਆਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨਿੱਤ ਨਵੇਂ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ (ਵਿਮੈਨਜ਼) ਦੀ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਫਨ ਐਂਡ ਫਿਟਨੈਸ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਲੂਨਾ ਲੁਆਇਨਜ਼, ਖੰਡਰ ਕਿਉਨਜ਼, ਗੋਲਡਨ ਗੋਡੈਸਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਫੀਅਰਨੈਸ ਫੇਅਰੀਜ਼ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲੂਨਾ ਲੁਆਇਨੈਸਜ ਨੂੰ 10 ਮਿੰਟ 45 ਸੈਕਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਅਰਲੈਸ ਫੇਅਰੀਜ਼ ਨੇ 11 ਮਿੰਟ 53 ਸੈਕਿੰਡ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਥੰਡਰ ਕਿਉਨਜ ਨੇ 11 ਮਿੰਟ 53 ਸੈਕਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਬੈਂਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਅਫਜਾਈ ਲਈ ਮੈਡਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਆਖਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਬੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਗਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਮੀਤ ਸੋਢੀ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
