Lyallpur Khalsa College students receive scholarship money from Jatt Sikh Council

Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, provides scholarships to needy and meritorious students, assists them to pursue their respective studies and also motivates various non-governmental social welfare organizations to provide scholarships to the meritorious students of the college. Under this, "The Jatt Sikh Council (Regd.)" provided scholarship money of Rs. 45 thousand to meritorious needy students. Chief guest of the event  President, Jatt Sikh Council, S. Lyallpur Khalsa College Students Attended Adventure Camps by Youth Services Govt. of Punjab

  Lyallpur Khalsa College provides ample opportunities to its students and staff for their overall growth and development. Keeping this intact, 38 NSS volunteers of the college participated in Hiking and trekking camps. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu congratulated the NSS volunteers on the successful completion of their respective adventure camps.  Dr. Sandhu said that these camps instill skills related to team spirit, discipline and self management. He appreciated the efforts of department of youth services to promote tourism in state by developing camp sites in Punjab. Coordinator of Youth Services, LKC, Prof. Satpal Singh, selected as camp in charge in one of these camps, informed that total 09 camp sites are being developed by Department of Youth Services, Punjab in the state to provide unique experience of trekking, navigation, mountainous life, forests and wild life. 15 Students of B.Com. have Passed CA/CS/CMA Foundation Examinations

The students’ success reflects their relentless pursuit of knowledge, and their ability to excel in one of the most challenging professional examinations. Post Graduate Department of Geography, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized a one day workshop on Fundamentals of Remote sensing and GIS. The resource person, Prof. Ripudaman Singh from Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was welcomed by Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu and Dr. Pooja Rana HOD Geography with bouquet of flowers. This workshop was conducted to make students learn the basics of remote sensing technology and mapping in geographical information systems. Punjabi literary world suffered an irreparable loss lately with the passing away of Dr. Ranjit Singh Bajwa, former Prof. and Head of Department of Punjabi, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu offered floral tributes to the departed souls and said that apart from being a world-class scholar, he was a very friendly and beloved teacher of the students. Scholarships worth rupees 1,00,000/- were awarded to the needy and deserving students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by S. Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust. Speaking on the occasion, the College President Governing Council, Sardarni Balbir Kaur lauded the Trust for extending this financial support to students. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu said that the Trust had been providing financial help to the students of the college for a number of years. He also reiterated the commitment of the college to affordable and quality education, adding that all possible efforts would be made to support meritorious and deserving students. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, the leading educational institution of North India, has been making proud achievements in sports, educational and cultural fields. Under this series, Neha Sahota, a student of MA Music Vocal of the college's postgraduate department of music, has brought glory to the college by securing first place in the folk song competition organized by the Rotary Club Jalandhar in which 11 educational institutions participated.
