A respect laden program on the martyrdom day of 5th Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was held in Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar today wherein Bhog of the Sehaj Path in the college Gurudwara Sahib was  followed by 'Chabeel' which was served to one and all at the college entrance. It was an occasion in which the President Governing Council, Sardarni Balbir Kaur, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu and the whole of staff and students of the college participated. In her message the President of the college said that the teachings of Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji upheld values like sewa and sacrifice and were relevant in all times. NSS Unit Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with My Bharat Office Jalandhar organized a Yog Session in the morning to celebrate International Yoga Day. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu was the chief guest of the event. He lauded Yogs as one of the richest the legacies of India which is now globally recognized. He added that in the prevailing situation, where stress and alienation are taking a toll on the human body, yoga is a significant solution to balance mind, body and soul. He added that yog brings not only peace of mind but also flexibility in the body. During the session, yog asanas like surya namaskar, prayanam, tadasana, ashwa sanchalanasana, dhanurasana, savasana, bhujang asana etc. focusing on breathing, flexibility and muscle strength were performed. Nehpreet Kaur of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has bagged 2nd position in the University exams of Master of Science in Information Technology III Semester by getting 8.36 SGPA out of 10 whereas Palak bagged 3rd position by getting 8.27 SGPA. Premier educational institution Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar holds a unique place in the educational, sports and cultural field. The college conducts sports trials for 22 sports events to instill enthusiasm for sports among the students. Dawinderjit Kaur of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has bagged 5th position in the University exams of MA-Political Science - III Semester by getting 8.20 SGPA out of 10 whereas Gurpreet Kaur and Amrit Kaur secured 6th positions jointly by getting 8.00 SGPA  respectively in the same class. Student of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar performed excellently in Guru Nanak Dev University exams. In a press release, the Principal of the College Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu informed that students Ravleen Kaur bagged 1st  position in the MA Music (Vocal)-III Semester by getting 10.00 SGPA out of 10, whereas Amarjit Singh secured 2nd  position by getting 9.75 SGPA, Gurbaksh Kaur, Ajit Singh Bhasin, Neha, Shallu and Deepak Kumar secured 3rd  positions jointly by getting 9.50 SGPA. The name of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, shone in the whole world when Gurindervir Singh, an alumnus of the college, completed the 100-meter race in 10.9 seconds, creating a new national record.
