In a display of vibrant patriotism and youthful enthusiasm, the Army Wing of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Lyallpur Khalsa College successfully organized its comprehensive enrolment drive for the academic session 2026-27. Operating under the affiliation of the 2 PB NCC Battalion, Jalandhar, the event drew a massive turnout of aspiring students eager to don the prestigious uniform.   Under the aegis of Directorate of Youth Services, Chandigarh & Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Youth Services, Jalandhar in collaboration with NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club & Dept of Physical Education & Sports, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized District Level Red Run (Marathon) of Red Ribbon Clubs of Jalandhar District in the college ground. The aim of the Red Run was to spread awareness regarding HIV/AIDS. NSS Unit Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with My Bharat Office Jalandhar organized a Yog Session in the morning to celebrate International Yoga Day. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu was the chief guest of the event. He lauded Yogs as one of the richest the legacies of India which is now globally recognized. He added that in the prevailing situation, where stress and alienation are taking a toll on the human body, yoga is a significant solution to balance mind, body and soul. He added that yog brings not only peace of mind but also flexibility in the body. Recently, when Punjab Home Guards, Civil Defence & Training Jalandhar organized a Mock Drill, college N.S.S. unit and Disaster Risk Reduction & Mgt Club participated in the drill with full compliance. In this light, NSS volunteers of the college participated in the Cyclothon- campaign against drug abuse organized by District Administration. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu appreciated the volunteers for their efforts. He said that participation in such campaigns not only makes the society aware but also determines the participants against the menace of drugs. He was optimistic that the youth will understand the negative impact of drugs on body and mind and reverse the trend of drug usage. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu inaugurated the camp and motivated the participants to donate blood. He said India is world's most populated country but it is sad to see very less donors per thousand in India. This is very less in comparison to the demand of blood due to road accidents, thalassemia and other medical conditions. Some patients fail to get required blood. Lyallpur Khalsa College successfully conducted the NCC ‘B’ Certificate Practical Examination at its college grounds, showcasing discipline, skill and enthusiasm among cadets from various institutions.
