Lyallpur Khalsa College student wins Silver and Bronze Medal in Weight Lifting

The students of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar excel in the field of sports as well as academics. Recently, Dharam Raj, a student of Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports Part I of the college, won a silver medal in the North/East University Weight Lifting Competition and a bronze medal in the All India Inter University Competition. On this occasion, President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, staff members of the Department of Sports and Phy. Education and the winner student. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated Dr. Rashpal Singh, Dean Sports, weight lifting coach S. Sarabjit Singh, all the teachers and student players on this achievement of the player and said that our players have worked very hard under the supervision of their coaches and as a result the college has won these medals. He added that we are very proud of our players. He further informed that the college provides special facilities and scholarships to the national and international level players. On this occasion, the staff members of the sports department of the college, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Manvir Pal, Mr. Jagdish Singh and Mr. Amrit Lal Saini were also present.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਬੈਚਲਰ ਆਫ ਫਿਜਿਕਲ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਨੋਰਥ/ਈਸਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਵੋਟ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਿਲਵਰ ਤਮਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਇੰਟਰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਾਂਸੇ ਦਾ ਤਮਗਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ, ਵੇਟ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਕੋਚ ਸ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਚਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ ਰੇਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਸਦਕਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇਹ ਤਮਗੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਸ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਵੀਰ ਪਾਲ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲਾਲ ਸੈਣੀ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
