Lyallpur Khalsa College won the First Runner-up General Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University Sports

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for achievements in the field of academics as well as in the field of sports. In the same series, the college has created a record by winning the Inter College First Runner Up General Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated the Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr. Rashpal Singh, Dean Sports, on this achievement. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that in the special event held at Guru Nanak Dev University, the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Dr. Karamjit Singh and various officials presented the trophy to the college. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that 36 sports event competitions are conducted by the university, out of which the college has won in 33 sports games. He said that the college has secured first position in 13 games, second position in 13 games and third position in 7 games. It may be mentioned that the college has won the overall championship of the general trophy of the university 24 times before. He said that our players have performed at an international level, due to which we have succeeded in achieving this feat, and all the staff and players and students deserve congratulations. He also said that the college provides free accommodation, diet and other facilities to the top ranked players due to which they perform better. The college secured first, second and third positions in the following sports: Tennis, Badminton, Weightlifting, Kabaddi, Wrestling (Greco Roman), Wrestling (Free Style), Rugby, Archery (Compound), Kho-Kho, Shooting (Rifle), Shooting (Pistol), Cycling (Road), Canoeing, Hockey, Taekwondo, Wushu, Boxing, Archery (Recurve), Fencing, Pencak Silat, Athletics, Rowing, Cycling (Track), Kayaking, Dragon Boat, Cricket, Volleyball, Judo, Handball, Gymnastics, Karate, Swimming, Water Polo. Mr. Jasdish Singh, Mr. Amrit Lal Saini, Mr. Sarabjit Singh were also present on this occasion.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਸਟ ਰਨਰ ਅੱਪ ਜਨਰਲ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ 36 ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ 33 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਟਰਾਫ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ 13 ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ 13 ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ 7 ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਜਨਰਲ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦੀ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 24 ਵਾਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਸਦਕਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ ਅਤੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉੱਚ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਰੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼, ਡਾਇਟ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਟੈਨਿਸ, ਬੈਡਮਿੰਟਨ, ਵੋਟ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ, ਕਬੱਡੀ, ਰੈਸਲਿੰਗ (ਗਰੀਕੋ ਰੋਮਨ), ਰੇਸਲਿੰਗ (ਫਰੀ ਸਟਾਇਲ), ਰਗਬੀ, ਆਰਚਰੀ (ਕੰਪਾਊਂਡ), ਖੋ-ਖੋ, ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ (ਰਾਇਫਲ), ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ (ਪਿਸਟਲ), ਸਾਇਕਲਿੰਗ (ਚੌਲ), ਕਨੌਇੰਗ, ਹਾਕੀ, ਤਾਇਕਵਾਂਡੋ, ਵਸੂ, ਬਾਕਸਿੰਗ, ਆਰਚਰੀ (ਰੀਕਰਵ), ਫੇਨਸਿੰਗ, ਪੈਨਕਾਕ ਸੀਲਾਟ, ਐਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ, ਰੋਇੰਗ, ਸਾਇਕਲਿੰਗ (ਟਰੈਕ), ਕੈਕਿੰਗ, ਡਰੈਗਨ ਬੋਟ, ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ, ਵਾਲੀਵਾਲ, ਜੂਡੋ, ਹੈਂਡਬਾਲ, ਜਿਮਨਾਸਟਿਕ, ਕਰਾਟੇ, ਸਵਿਮਿੰਗ, ਵਾਟਰਪੋਲੋ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਦੂਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲਾਲ ਸੈਣੀ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
