Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included. Commencement of Summer Football Coaching Camp at Lyallpur Khalsa College

The Punjab Sports Department organized two-day selection trials at Lyallpur Khalsa College

  Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, which has made a distinct identity in the field of sports, was the venue chosen by the Punjab Sports Department to organize football and handball trials for boys and girls for the session 2024-25. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dean Sports Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Selection Committee Members and Coaches introduced themselves to the football players. NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College observed International Yoga Day at College Campus by organizing a soul enriching Yoga Session. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh in his opening remarks emphasized on the importance of yoga and its increasing popularity at international level. He added that in present scenario when lack of patience, stress and anxiety are taking toll on human body and mind, Yoga is a better option to relax body and mind from negative impacts of fast moving life. Release of Prospectus for the Academic Session 2024-2025

  The College Prospectus prepared as per NEP-2020 was  released for the admission of academic year 2024-25 at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is constantly on the move for the holistic development of students. The students here excel in academic field as well as in sports. A three-day sports trial was started at the college to select the players for the new session 2024-25. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh specially attended these sports trials. On this occasion, he welcomed the sports students to join the college, wished them well and encouraged them to appear in trials with full sports spirit and dedication. He told the students that as true sportspersons if they dedicate themselves to sports and perform for the college, the college will provide them every possible facility. He said that on the first, second and third day of the sports trials, there were trials of various sports in which about 450 sportsmen and students gave trials. He said that those selected in these trials will be provided opportunities to participate in inter-college, inter-varsity, national and international level sports.

Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS Units celebrates World Environment Day

NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College & Red Ribbon Club Organized One Day Tree Plantation Camp at the campus to celebrate World Environment Day. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh inaugurated the camp by planting a sapling. In his message, he appealed that everyone should plant at least one tree. Referring to the heat waves and rising temperatures, he advised that green environment is the best option to keep the temperature in balance. He told them that it is important to take care of the saplings initially then they take care of us by providing fresh air. He appreciated efforts of NSS volunteers and encouraged them to plant trees in their own surroundings too. NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that total 35 plants of Neem, Drek, Arjun, Bahera etc. are planted in first phase. NSS unit has planned to plant 150 trees before monsoon. On this occasion, volunteers pledged to protect and water the planted saplings.  

Sports trials for the upcoming session 2024-25

Lyallpur Khalsa College will conduct sports trials for the upcoming session 2024-25 on dates 06, 07 and 08 June 2024 in the S. Balbir Singh Sports Stadium of the college. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh notified that sportsmen for Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing and Volleyball can appear for trials on the opening day of June 06. On 07 June, trials shall be conducted for Hockey, Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Handball, and Karate. On 8th June, the third and final day of the trials, Football, Baseball, Kho-Kho, Tennis and Cricket trials shall be held. He informed that graduate and higher secondary cleared candidates can report for these trials at 9 am sharp in their sports kit with original documents whilst assuring best facilities for promising sportsmen as an encouragement on behalf of the college.
