Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included. Lyallpur Khalsa College Commerce Students Carry out Survey on Marketing Strategies

Around 100 commerce students of Lyallpur Khalsa College studied marketing strategies adopted by big national and international brands, during a field trip to Elante Mall, Chandigarh. This information given by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, who said that during this field trip, the students interviewed, besides the sales and marketing staff, the buyers also so as to get an understanding of consumer psychology. They investigated the retail mix supplied by hypermarkets, multiplexes, department stores, entertainment zones, food courts, fitness clubs among other venues, and learned about multiple facets of retail management and marketing management in a real-life scenario. In order to fully realize the concept of 'best out of waste' they also visited Rock Garden and surveyed the salability, acceptability and appeal of reused and recycled products among people. Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College College Jalandhar bagged medals in swimming in 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diya-2023' held at Distt. Mohali. In these games, Rohit, a student of the college, won the gold medal in the swimming event 100 meters breast stroke and the bronze medal in the relay event. Similarly, student Balwant Singh won silver medal in 100m freestyle event and bronze medal in relay event. Congratulating him, the college Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that the College was always committed to provide the best sports facilities to the students. Lyallpur Khalsa College Lifts Runner-up Trophy in Youth Festival

Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar continued its impressive run in the field of cultural activities by winning the first runners up trophy of C-Zone, Youth Festival Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. The latest edition of the Youth festival was organized by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar wherein 21 Colleges of the region affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University competed in various categories. The college participated in 36 events and won the first runners up trophy by scoring 121 points. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and his entire cultural team and winners on this achievement. Uday Singh Thakur, a BA 5th semester student of Lyallpur Khalsa College college bagged gold medal in Rifle Shooting by securing 592 points out of 600 in 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diya-2023' held at Village Badal, Bathinda. He also bagged silver medal in rifle shooting from Punjab State I.S.S.F. Shooting Championship 2023-24 held at New Delhi by securing 6193 points out of 6540. Congratulating him, the college Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that the College was always committed to provide the best sports facilities to the students. He also congratulated the sports department, College Dean Sports Dr. S.S. Bains and the shooting coach Rajwinder Kaur. Rangoli Competition organised in Lyallpur Khalsa College

A rangoli making competition on ‘Viral Diseases’ was  organized by Post Graduate Department of Biotechnology of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in association with Microbiologists Society of (MBSI) India,  in which 39 students belonging to 13 teams from B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Medical and M.Sc. Biotechnology streams  participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.   A literary extravaganza was organized by English Literary Society of Lyallpur Khalsa College. An array of competitions was organized as part of the programme. More than 70 students participated in various activities such as Calligraphy competition, Design your Own Book Cover Competition, Creative Writing Competition, Flower Arrangement Competition. The highlight of the programme was “Book Character Comes Alive” Competition. It was a true delight to witness the characters from the pages of different books spring to life through the performances of the students.   Cadet Corporal Arshdeep Bhatia and Cadet Kunal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, have achieved a remarkable feat by winning the prestigious trophy for Best Line Area at the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC) 2023 at AIRFORCE Station Jalahali, Bangalore.   Dr. Hirdejit Singh Bhogal, son of eminent Punjabi writer Dr. Pyara Singh Bhogal, donated about 2000 books from his father's personal collection to the library of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. This information was given by the College Principal Dr Jaspal Singh who alongwith Sardarni Balbir Kaur President, Governing Council and S. Jaspal Singh Waraich Joint Secretary received these books. Speaking on this occasion, the Principal expressed his thanks to Dr. Bhogal for this philanthropist act. He lauded the contribution of Dr. Pyara Singh Bhogal to the world of Punjabi literary history, criticism, novels and short stories. The occasion was witnessed by the presence of the senior teachers of the college.

  Dr Jaspal Singh was felicitated by the Lyallpur Khalsa College  staff on his joining as the principal of the college. In a brief function held in the college, the staff secretary Dr.  Rashpal Sandhu, Vice Principal Prof.  Jasreen Kaur and the staff formally welcomed Dr. Singh on his appointment as the Principal of the same college where he taught for 22 years in the Department of Physical Education and Sports. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jaspal Singh said that he was glad to have got an opportunity to serve in the college in a new capacity and expressed his  commitment to its development. NCC cadet Lovepreet on his return to the college after attending Thal Sena Camp in Delhi

Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, a premiere North Indian educational institute, strives to provide opportunities to its students to hone their capabilities and talents in education, sports, NCC and cultural activities. These words were said by the principal of the college, Dr. Jaspal Singh while felicitating the NCC cadet Lovepreet on his return to the college after attending Thal Sena Camp in Delhi. He said that NCC organisation has a disciplined cadre in the college and he feels proud of the achievements of NCC cadets. Thal Sena camp is an All India level camp and  considered to be the second important camp in the NCC after the Republic Day Camp. Cadets are selected to join this camp through various competitive camps organized at battalion, group headquarters and directorate levels. Punjab State Super Football League Tier-2 match was played between Guru Football Club and Kurali Football Club teams at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.   Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS organized 'Swachhta Hi Sewa- Cleanliness drive under the directions of NSS Regional Directorate, New Delhi and office of Director,  Higher Education Dpt., Punjab. This campaign culminated with a cleanliness drive  in the college campus and surrounding area in collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar and PG Dept. of History. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh initiated the drive by motivating students and said that service to humanity and cleanliness is a very valuable tradition of our society and contribution of young volunteers in these campaigns is testimony of the fact that we are moving in the right direction.
