The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College Lifts Runner-up Trophy in Youth Festival


Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar continued its impressive run in the field of cultural activities by winning the first runners up trophy of C-Zone, Youth Festival Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. The latest edition of the Youth festival was organized by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar wherein 21 Colleges of the region affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University competed in various categories. The college participated in 36 events and won the first runners up trophy by scoring 121 points. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and his entire cultural team and winners on this achievement. The College Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that the college won first prize in 11 events, second in 12 events, third in 06 events en route to claiming the podium finish. He congratulated Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh, Music Incharge Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Literary Incharge Dr. Surinder Pal Mand & Prof. Satpal Singh, Theatre Incharge Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Fine Arts Incharge Dr. Ajitpal Singh, staff and students of the college on this achievement, various teams in charge, staff and students of the college on this achievement. Positions won by the College in Multiple events are as Follows:

•First Prize: Bhangra, Group Dance (Luddi), Vaar Singing, Classical Instrument (Non-Per), Clay Modelling, Group Shabad, Folk Song, Poster Making, Elocution, Gidha, Western Instrumental Solo.

•Second Prize: Folk Orchestra, Classical Instrument (Per), Classical Vocal, Cartooning, Mime, Skit, One Act Play, Group Song, Gazal, Mehndi, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song.

•Third Prize: Quiz, Costume Parade, Rangoli, Phulkari, Mimicry, Classical Dance.

He also informed that the college teams were all set to compete in the upcoming Inter-Zonal Youth Festival being organised from 03-06 November, 2023.
