The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College organized 'Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Cleanliness Drive


 

Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS organized 'Swachhta Hi Sewa- Cleanliness drive under the directions of NSS Regional Directorate, New Delhi and office of Director,  Higher Education Dpt., Punjab. This campaign culminated with a cleanliness drive  in the college campus and surrounding area in collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar and PG Dept. of History. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh initiated the drive by motivating students and said that service to humanity and cleanliness is a very valuable tradition of our society and contribution of young volunteers in these campaigns is testimony of the fact that we are moving in the right direction. Then, volunteers cleaned the campus and collected plastic in bags. The campaign started from the college main gate and culminated under the flyover. The garbage was put in the municipality trolley. Gloves and sanitizers were duly used. Prof. Satpal Singh, Chief Program Officer informed that during this two week campaign, volunteers  made people aware of cleanliness through Nukkad Natak on Single Use Plastic Ban, Swachhta Pledge Rangoli and Painting. Moreover, volunteers visited the Material resource Facility Unit (MRF Jal. Cantt.) where they practically learned segregation of wet waste and the procedure of making rich NPK compost from kitchen waste.  In addition to this, volunteers cleaned the cemetery of adopted ward of Dakoha.  During this campaign, Dr. Suman Chopra, Dr. Karanbir Singh, PO Amandeep Kaur, PO Surbjit Singh and Mr. Saini, Ms. Saroj and Ms. Jyoti from MCJ played an important role.
