Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Literary extravaganza was organized by English Literary Society


 A literary extravaganza was organized by English Literary Society of Lyallpur Khalsa College. An array of competitions was organized as part of the programme. More than 70 students participated in various activities such as Calligraphy competition, Design your Own Book Cover Competition, Creative Writing Competition, Flower Arrangement Competition. The highlight of the programme was “Book Character Comes Alive” Competition. It was a true delight to witness the characters from the pages of different books spring to life through the performances of the students. Book characters from English as well as Hindi and Punjabi literature such as Shylock, Nirmala, Hamlet, Nora, Alice, Krogstad, Ranjha, etc were portrayed with flair and enthusiasm by the participants. The enthusiastic participation from all departments was a testimony to the vibrant literary culture of the college. The Principal of the college, Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated English Literary Society for successfully organizing the fest and added that participation, practice and perseverance is the key to every student's success. He said that such competitions were instrumental in not only helping one delve deeper into the world of literature but also nurture one’s creative and analytical thinking skills. Head of the English Department, Prof Jasreen Kaur applauded the efforts and dedication of the participants and urged the students to keep nurturing their love for literature. President, English Literary Society, Prof. Geetanjali Mahajan advised students to actively pursue their literary talents as it would make them more creative, confident, and articulate citizens. Design your Own Book Cover and Flower Arrangement was adjudged by Prof. Amita Shaheed, Prof. Ravneet Bains and Prof Pooja Ralhan. Calligraphy Competition was adjudged by Prof. Ajitpal and Prof. Sonia Singh. Creative Writing Competition was adjudged by Prof. Jasreen Kaur and Prof. Balraj Kaur. Book Character Comes Alive was adjudged by Prof. Charanjit Singh, Prof. Harjinder Singh Sekhon and Prof. Bhavna. Heads of various departments, Prof. Hariom Verma, Prof. Ahuja Sandeep, Prof. Manmeet Sodhi, Prof Manju Joshi were also present on the occasion. All in all, the event was testimony to the fact that literature has the power not only to inspire and educate but also to entertain.
