Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included. Awareness drive for Ban of Single Use Plastic at PPR Mall, Jalandhar.

The Social Sensitization Cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar and AGAPP (Action Group against Plastic Pollution) NGO, with the cooperation of Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar held an awareness drive for Ban of Single Use Plastic at PPR Mall, Jalandhar. Food outlets and other businesses were made aware of the ‘Single Use Plastic Ban’ which is in effect since 2016 and were urged not to use Single Use Plastic Bags, Disposable Plastic Cutlery and Cups. Customers were also sensitized about this issue and were urged not to accept any Plastic Cutlery and Cups from the shops. Principal of the college, Dr. Jaspal Singh inspired and motivated all for not using Plastic and not accepting anything in Plastic container from anywhere. Lyallpur Khalsa College wins Aristotle Running Trophy Annual Debate Competition 2023

  Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is committed for the overall development of its students by providing suitable and competitive platforms to express their skills. College debate team won Aristotle Running Trophy by standing first in Annual Debate Competition 2023 held at KRM DAV College Nakodar. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh felicitated the team members Balpreet Kaur and Apurva Dhir. He further asserted that college leaves no stone unturned to bring out the best in its students. He blessed students to perform well in upcoming youth festival. Team incharge Prof. Satpal Singh informed that total 08 teams of Jalandhar competed for the trophy.   Centre for Historical Studies under the aegis of PG Dept. of History, NSS Units and NCC Army wing in cohesion celebrated birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh with grandeur. More than 100 students of the department attended a technical seminar on Challenges in Software Development organized by P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar under Alumni Tech-Talk Series. In the continuity of the series, the resource person Mr. Amit Kumar Maini, an alumnus of this department and Managing Director of a Noida based Software Development Company Essem Technologies, informed students about the career opportunities in software industry and provided insightful strategies for conquering challenges before software industry. Dr Jaspal Singh joins as Khalsa College Principal

Dr Jaspal Singh has been appointed the Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. In a brief function held in the college office today the president of the College Government Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur made him assume the chair. It is noteworthy here that Dr Jaspal Singh worked in the college as Head of the sports department for around 22 years before joining as Principal Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur where he had been  working till now. An avid researcher and dedicated sports person Dr Jaspal Singh has four books and over 40 national and international research publications to his credit. During his tenure as the head of the sports department of the college, the college won overall sports championship of the university for 18 times. S. Harnarinder Singh Passes Away

Noted Academician and administrator S. Harnarinder Singh passed away last day. He acted as the Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar from 1977 to 1992 and thereafter the Chairman of Punjab School Education Board. A multifaceted personality, he usefully contributed to the development of Lyallpur Khalsa College and P.S.Ed.B. He is survived by his son and his daughter Jasreen Kaur who is currently the Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College. In her message, the president of College Governing College, Sardarni Balbir Kaur expressed the sense of grief and offered condolences to the bereaved family on the behalf of the college staff.  

PG Department of Political Science organized an Inter College Competition

World famous historian, poet and novelist Sarbpreet Singh was the speaker on this occasion.  Singh is a resident of Boston, USA. Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur Welcomed the author on the dias and said that his historical knowledge will be very informative and enlightening for our students.  Narrating the experiences of his early life, Sarbpreet Singh introduced the students to his literary journey and many known and unknown facts of history. Coming from the north eastern state of Sikkim, Singh migrated to the USA and studied there. Till the age of 27, he was not able to read or write the Punjabi language.   He met an American Sikh family and was deeply influenced by their knowledge of the Punjab and Sikh religion.   The Grievances Redressal Cell of the college along with Department of Zoology & Botany embarked on this mission from 1 Sept. 2023, by earmarking diverse events to be held throughout the month. A month long exhibition has been laid out in Science Block, which was inaugurated by Prof Jasreen Kaur, Principal of the college. Prof Jaswinder Kaur and Dr Gagandeep Kaur welcomed the Principal.
