The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh

 


Centre for Historical Studies under the aegis of PG Dept. of History, NSS Units and NCC Army wing in cohesion celebrated birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh with grandeur. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, chief guest of the event, Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Vice-Principal,  Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Registrar and HODs of other departments were welcomed by Dr. Suman Chopra, Coordinator of Centre for Historical Studies and Head PG Department of History. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, in his address, motivated the students to contribute in the making of new India by taking cues of patriotism and determination from the life of S. Bhagat Singh. He further gave motto of ‘local to global’ to make India a force to reckon with in the world. During this program, a poster making competition was organized. In addition, speech, poem, song, dance performances focusing on the topic ‘Patriotism’ were conducted to remember the contribution of S. Bhagat Singh and other patriots. Dr. Chopra elaborated on the philosophy of Shahed-E-Azam. Prof. Satpal Singh, Program Officer, NSS summarized the event and paid vote of thanks to all present. The stage was conducted by students Mangal Singh and Arshpreet Kaur. During this event, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Karanbir Singh, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, faculty members, NSS volunteers and students in huge number were present.
