The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. The Grievances Redressal Cell of the college along with Department of Zoology & Botany embarked on this mission from 1 Sept. 2023, by earmarking diverse events to be held throughout the month. A month long exhibition has been laid out in Science Block, which was inaugurated by Prof Jasreen Kaur, Principal of the college. Prof Jaswinder Kaur and Dr Gagandeep Kaur welcomed the Principal. In her inaugural address Prof Jasreen Kaur emphasized that this year's theme is to comprehensively tackle malnutrition through a life-cycle approach. She highlighted that the focal point of POSHAN Maah-2023 is to cultivate nutritional understanding across various sections of the society, especially the adolescents and young students, through a theme centered on "Suposhit Bharat, Sakshar Bharat, Sashakt Bharat" (Nutrition-rich India, Educated India, Empowered India). Activities involving students, NGO's and subject experts are planned in the coming weeks. The event was attended by Dr Upma Arora, Dr Heminder Singh, Prof Surbjit Singh, Prof Amita Shahid, Prof Ravneet Bains, Dr Raminder Bhatia, Dr Patwant Atwal, Prof Ubique Bedi and students.
