The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Orientation Programme for BSc 1st semester students was organised at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar.


All the students having opted for Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science and Biotechnology subjects in B.Sc. attended this programme. The Principal of the college Prof Jasreen Kaur graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Principal in her address conveyed the new students about college traditions and achievements in fields of academics, sports, culture and music. She assured the students about the best possible learning environment and guidance from faculty. She insisted upon the prime role of humility in learning. Quoting Shakespeare, she compared the world to a stage where all should play their role to their best ability. Dr. Geetanjli Kaushal, Department of Chemistry conducted the orientation session through power point presentation. The new students were made aware about department profiles, infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Students came to know about the provision of remedial classes, enrichment classes, mentorship programme, grievance redressal system and scholarship schemes. There was introductory round by all first year students and excellent dance and musical performances by freshers as well as senior students. It was a show full of talent and confidence. The convenor of programme Prof Jaswinder Kaur, Head Department of Zoology and Botany presented the vote of thanks and wished successful and bright future for all students. The stage was managed by Dr Navjot Kaur and Amanpreet Kaur Sandhu. All the heads of Sciences departments and faculty members were present on this occasion.
