The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Dr Jaspal Singh joins as Khalsa College Principal



Dr Jaspal Singh has been appointed the Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. In a brief function held in the college office today the president of the College Government Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur made him assume the chair. It is noteworthy here that Dr Jaspal Singh worked in the college as Head of the sports department for around 22 years before joining as Principal Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur where he had been  working till now. An avid researcher and dedicated sports person Dr Jaspal Singh has four books and over 40 national and international research publications to his credit. During his tenure as the head of the sports department of the college, the college won overall sports championship of the university for 18 times. Dr Singh presented a research paper in Pre Olympic Congress held at London. He also participated in world University games held at Napoli, Italy as team manager. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Singh expressed his thanks towards the Governing Council for showing its trust in him and said that he was committed to the development and progress of the institution. The occasion was witnessed by the presence of the college Vice Principal Prof.  Jasreen Kaur, Director Academic Affairs Technical Campus S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, senior teaching and non teaching staff.
