Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included.   Silver Jubilee event was organized on completion of 25 years of Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Physiotherapy course was started in 1998 under the leadership of the then Principal Sukhbir Singh Chatha. Today on the occasion of the 25th anniversary Mr. Sukhbir Singh Chatha who is currently posted as the Director of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Technical Campus, attended as the Chief Guest. Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS Units & Red Ribbon Club LKC organized a Blood Donation Camp

  NSS Units and Red Ribbon Club LKC organized a Blood Donation Camp in the college campus in collaboration with Blood Bank, Civil Hospital, Jalandhar on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Mr. Surinder Saini, a renowned social worker and Dr. Navneet Kaur inaugurated the camp. Principal Madam motivated the students to take part in this noble cause. Moreover, she dedicated the camp to the festival of Raksha Bandhan and stated that by donating blood, we can serve humanity in real terms. Mr. Saini negated the false myths related to blood donation and urged students to donate blood and save precious lives. Chief Program Officer Satpal Singh informed that there was foot fall of 70 persons in the camp and total 50 units were collected. National Sports Day marking the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand was duly celebrated in the lush green sports outfields of Lyallpur Khalsa College. Mr. Amrik Singh Powar, former Deputy Commissioner of Police and national player of Hockey graced the occasion as chief guest. NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrate Indipendace Day by culminating Meri Mati mera Desh Program with Vasudha Vandhan

  Lyallpur Khalsa College NSS Units under Meri Mati Mera Desh Program organized Vasudha Vandhan - One Day Camp in which 75 indigenous plants were planted in the college campus to develop an Amrit Vatika to celebrate 76th Independence Day. Honourable Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur initiated the camp and encouraged the volunteers to not only plant but also nurture these plants. She added that this program is an initiative of the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs as a tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers. She further stated that NSS Volunteers can play their part by becoming eco-soldiers and protecting the flora and fauna of our surroundings.  Program Officer Satpal Singh informed that volunteers throughout this campaign have done plantations in villages Lakshian, Bhakhriana, Bhulla Rai and Jalandhar Cantt Area with Jan Bhagidari of Gram Panchayats and army men. NSS units LKC started a week long Meri Mati Mera Desh Program devoted to Freedom Fighters and Army Personnel through Jan Bhagidari.
