The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Department of Physiotherapy of Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated Silver Jubilee event

 


Silver Jubilee event was organized on completion of 25 years of Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Physiotherapy course was started in 1998 under the leadership of the then Principal Sukhbir Singh Chatha. Today on the occasion of the 25th anniversary Mr. Sukhbir Singh Chatha who is currently posted as the Director of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Technical Campus, attended as the Chief Guest. Some of the students from the 1998-99 batch of the department, Dr Sukhjinderpal Singh Sandhu (Consultant Physiotherapist, Patiala), Dr Kapil Sardana (Consultant Physiotherapist, Sri Ram Group of Industries, Delhi), Dr Jaspreet Singh Vij (Associate Professor, Baba Farid University of Health Scientists, Faridkot), Dr. Som Gupta (Head, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana) and Dr. Vikas Jain (In-Charge Physiotherapy, DMC, Ludhiana) attended the event as special guests. Head of the department Dr. Raju Sharma and Dr. Jaswant Kaur Sandhu welcomed all the guests with bouquets of flowers. Principal of the College, Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Chief Guest S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha and specially invited guests started the function by lighting the lamp. Principal Prof Jasreen Kaur welcomed the guests and congratulated the department on its 25th anniversary. She appreciated the contribution of the department in the progress of the college and explained the importance of physiotherapy. The Head of the Department, Dr. Raju Sharma, shared 25 years of golden glory with everyone through a documentary. Harpreet Kaur, a talented intern of the department, moved everyone by presenting this journey of 25 years through a story. The chief guest of this event, S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, while recalling the progress made in the department during his tenure, said that this department has always been fulfilling its responsibility for the society well and I hope that it will continue in the same way in the future will continue to work. He congratulated the department on its 25th anniversary. Special guests Dr. S. Singh Sandhu, Dr. Jasmeet Singh Vij, Dr. Kapil Sardana, Dr. Som Gupta, Dr. Vikas Jain spent in the college and remembered some special days and congratulated the department and said that today they are in the society. All the credit goes to the department and teachers, the environment and management of the college for the place they are at. He was very happy to meet the new students. In the program of Silver Jubilee, the students of Physiotherapy Department performed Bhangra, Giddha, Bharatnatyam dance, poetry and added color to the event. A special poster making competition was also organized on this occasion, the main objective of which was to show the journey of 25 years of the department. In this competition, students Gulnaj and Anna of BPT III year won first place, Harshita BPT I year got second place and Kajal of BPT 3 year got third place. Mrs. Monika and Mr. Raj Kumar (Lab Attendant), employees of this department, were specially honored for their contribution to the department. The stage was conducted by the teachers of the department, Dr. Harmin Kaur, Dr. Vishali Mahindru Dr. Priyank Sharda and BPT part 2 and 3 students Shyna, Tanpreet and Tripta did it. In the end, the teacher of the department Dr. Anjali Ojha thanked all the guests.
