Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes Musical Workshop

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, the premier educational institution of North India, has a unique identity in sports, educational and cultural fields. To update students about recent developments in classical music, the Post Graduate Department of Music organized a musical workshop in which Vidushi Sanhita Nandi, a famous classical music singer from West Bengal was the resource person. In this musical workshop, first the classical dance students presented Ganesh Vandana and the music students presented Saraswati Vandana. After this, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu lit the lamp along with the guests and welcomed the singer Vidushi Sanhita Nandi with flowers. Lyallpur Khalsa College organised a Mental Health Wellness Training Session in its Computer Auditorium in compliance with the directives of the Supreme Court of India and the Directorate of Higher Education, Punjab. The programme was conducted under the aegis of the College’s Mental Health Support Committee to promote awareness regarding early identification and prevention of suicide among youth.The session began with a welcome address by Prof (Dr) Rachpal Singh Sandhu. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for the overall development of its students. Recently, when the District Administration organized the Capacity Building Course of Civil Defence, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu welcomed this opportunity and 40 NSS volunteers took the 10 day training and became Civil Defence Warriors. Dr. Sandhu, in his address, said that being a border state it is a highly appreciable program and motivated the volunteers to participate in it with full dedication. Lyallpur Khalsa College successfully conducted the NCC ‘B’ Certificate Practical Examination at its college grounds, showcasing discipline, skill and enthusiasm among cadets from various institutions. Briefing the press, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, informed that a total of 594 NCC cadets from 2 PB NCC Battalion, 8 PB NCC Battalion and 2 PB Girls NCC Battalion, representing different colleges, appeared in the examination.
