Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar PG dept of Biotechnology, organized DST sponsored hands in training workshop on "Essential oil analysis by GC-FID"

A leading educational institution in North India Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, was conducted a hands on training workshop on “Essential oils extraction and analysis by GC-FID”. On this occasion Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu was the Interacted with students. Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Co-PI, DST Project on behalf of the college the chief guest Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Dr Arun Dev Sharma, PI, DST Project, Teachers, welcomed the participants. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu congratulated the department for this program. Encouraging the students, he explained how science and technology are playing a role in our personal lives. He said that hands on training are very important in the field of science. He also said that researching teachers and students should take advantage of this program. Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, PI, DST Project informed about the importance of Pytho Chemicals. He said in his speech that consumption of herbal products like Tulsi, Essential Oil, Lemon Grass Oil etc. can prevent various diseases. For example, he said that these products have a great contribution in the prevention of deadly diseases like Covid-19 and Black Fungus. Prof Amrita apprised participants about GC-FD. Students are acquainted with new innovative hands on training skills to become an entrepreneur in lower budget for up-liftment of socio-economic status. In addition, in the Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma explained the method of phytochemical analysis and its importance. Dr. Inderjeet Kaur imparted hands on training to the students about antimicrobial assays. All the participants were apprised about DST-FIST Lab sponsored by DST Govt of India by Dr. Arun Dev sharma. On this occasion, Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, thanked to DST, SEED Govt. of India, Chief Guest Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu and Dr. Arun Dev Sharma.

ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਮੌਰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿੱਚ "ਜੰਸੀ ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਡੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਲ ਕੱਢਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣਾਂ' ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਾ. ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸਹਿ-ਪੀਆਈ, ਡੀਐਸਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ, ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ, ਡਾ. ਅਰੁਣ ਦੇਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪੀਆਈ, ਡੀਐਸਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਲਈ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਦੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਉਠਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਅਰੁਣ ਦੇਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪੀਆਈ, ਡੀਐੱਸਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਨੇ ਪਾਈਥ੍ਰੋ ਕੈਮੀਕਲਜ਼ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਲਸੀ, ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਤੇਲ, ਲੈਮਨ ਗ੍ਰਾਸ ਤੇਲ ਆਦਿ ਵਰਗੇ ਜੜੀ-ਬੂਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਤਪਾਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਨ ਕਈ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਵਜੋਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤਪਾਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਅਤੇ ਬਲੈਕ ਫੰਗਸ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਘਾਤਕ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਤਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਸੀ-ਐਫਡੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ-ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਘੱਟ ਬਜਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਦਮੀ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਵੀਨਤਾਕਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਹੂਨਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਡਾ. ਅਰੁਣ ਦੋਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਫਾਈਟੋਕੈਮੀਕਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਡਾ. ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਂਟੀਮਾਈਕ੍ਰੋਬਾਇਲ ਅਸੈਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਾ. ਅਰੁਣ ਦੇਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਡੀਐਸਟੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਪਾਂਸਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਡੀਐਸਟੀ ਫੈਸਟ ਲੈਬ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ, ਡਾ. ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਡੀਐਸਟੀ, ਸੀਡ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ, ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਰੁਣ ਦੇਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
