Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes Interactive Workshop on Interview Skills

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Lyallpur Khalsa College successfully hosted an interactive workshop on “Interview Skills” featuring Mr. Daljit Singh, a renowned News Anchor from Indoz TV, Australia. The workshop was designed to provide students with a practical understanding of interview techniques, enhance their communication skills, and familiarize them with professional conduct within the media industry.The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the college Principal, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu. The formal proceedings began with a floral welcome for the resource person by Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, along with Dr.Harjit Singh (HOD, Mathematics), Dr. Balraj (HOD, English), Dr. Hari Om (IQAC Coordinator), and Prof. Ahuja Sandeep (Incharge, Department of JMC), and other faculty members. In his inaugural address, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu extended a warm welcome to Mr. Daljit Singh and the assembled dignitaries. He underscored the critical role of communication skills, confidence, and ethical journalism in navigating today's competitive media landscape. He further emphasized that the college is committed to providing a platform where students can bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands.Drawing from his extensive experience, Mr. Daljit Singh engaged the students with insights into strategic questioning and audience engagement, followed by a dynamic Q&A session on career paths and media ethics. A significant outcome of the event was a proposal by Mr. Singh for an international collaboration between the college and Australian media organizations. Principal Dr. Sandhu assured full administrative support for this initiative, highlighting its potential to offer students global internships and exchange programs.The workshop concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Department Incharge, Prof. Ahuja Sandeep, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Daljit Singh for his invaluable contribution, as well as to the dignitaries for their constant guidance and support. Faculty members from the Journalism department, including Prof. Rajat Kaur, Prof. Anjali Bhardwaj, and Prof. Monika, were present during the session, alongside Dr. Charanjit Singh (English dept.). The stage was skillfully managed by students Vanshika and Komal preet Kaur. The event proved to be a highly beneficial and enriching experience for all students of Journalism and Mass Communication.

 

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਜਨ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਿਤਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ "ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਸਕਿੱਲਜ਼" ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਇੰਟਰਐਕਟਿਵ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਇੰਡੋਜ਼ ਟੀਵੀ, ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਐਂਕਰ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਖ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਹੇਠ ਹੋਈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੰਧੂ ਸਮੇਤ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ), ਡਾ. ਬਲਰਾਜ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ), ਡਾ. ਹਰੀ ਓਮ (ਆਈ.ਕਿਊ.ਏ.ਸੀ. ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਆਹੂਜਾ ਸੰਦੀਪ (ਇੰਚਾਰਜ, ਜੇ.ਐਮ.ਸੀ. ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਨੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਦਸਤੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਹੁਨਰ, ਆਤਮ-ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਪਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ। ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ, ਸਰੀਰਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਣਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ-ਜਵਾਬ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵੀ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆਈ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੋਬਲ ਇੰਟਰਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਅਤੇ ਐਕਸਚੇਂਜ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਣ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਆਹੂਜਾ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜਰਨਲਿਜ਼ਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਜਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅੰਜਲੀ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮੋਨਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਡਾ. ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਮੰਚ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵੰਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਮਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।
