Lyallpur Khalsa College honore former student and current Member of Parliament (Calgary, Canada) Dalvinder Gill

 It was a proud moment for Lyallpur Khalsa College family to welcome its  former student and current Member of Parliament (Calgary, Canada). The College Governing Council President Sardarni Balbir Kaur, Joint Secretary S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Vice President S. Deepinder Singh Purewal, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Former Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and heads of all departments honored S. Dalvinder Gill by presenting bouquets of flowers and loi. On this occasion, the President of the Governing Council, Sardarni Balbir Kaur Ji said that such talented students bring glory to the name of the college all over the world. Further, she wished for his better future. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu said that S. Dalvinder Gill obtained his M.Sc. Mathematics degree from this college during 1992-94. During his time in college, he has been a very sincere and disciplined student. This discipline took his life to a high position. Students should take guidance from his success story. He added that honesty and transparency in  behavior testify to his humanistic thinking. S. Dalvinder Gill, in his address, refreshed his old memories associated with the college. He credited his success to Lyallpur Khalsa College. He said that he has deep respect for the college. On this occasion, S. Dalvinder Gill along with S. Jasraj Singh Holan, a Canadian MP, was also supposed to attend but could not attend due to some urgent engagement. His honour was also handed over to S. Dalwinder Gill. On this occasion, heads of various departments, professors, non-teaching staff and a large number of students were present. Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon performed the stage proceedings well. Later, Dalwinder Gill, Principal. Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu and Vice President S. Deepinder Singh Purewal along with all the attendees went to pay obeisance at the college Gurdwara Sahib and received the blessings of the Guru Ghar.

ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਮੌਰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਮਾਣਮੱਤੇ ਪਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਇਜਾਫਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ (ਕੈਲਗਰੀ, ਕਨੇਡਾ) ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ। ਕਾਲਜ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ, ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੜੈਚ, ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ. ਦੀਪਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁਰੇਵਾਲ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ, ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਦਸਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਈ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ. ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਚੰਗੇਰੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ. ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਐਮ.ਐਸਸੀ ਗਣਿਤ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ 1992-94 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇਸੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸੁਹਿਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹੀ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਚ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਿਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਲੈਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਨਸਾਨੀਅਤਵਾਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਭਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸ. ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅੱਜ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਦੇਣ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ. ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ. ਜਸਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਲਨ ਕਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਅਚਨਚੇਤੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਰੁਝੇਵੇਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਸ. ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ, ਨਾਨ-ਟੀਚਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਸਟੇਜ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਬਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਗਿੱਲ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਮੀ, ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ. ਦੀਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੂਰੇਵਾਲ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਤਮਸਤਕ ਹੋਣ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ
