Mock Parliament in Lyallpur Khalsa College

A mock parliament was organized by the Post Graduate Political Science Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar to acquaint the students with the working style of the Indian Parliament. Inaugurating the event, Principal Dr. Suman Chopra encouraged the students to use the knowledge gained from their subject in the social, political and personal spheres apart from academic knowledge. During this program, the students played the roles of the ruling and opposition parties of the Parliament. There were a total of 42 participants in this program, many of whom played the role of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Speaker, Finance Minister and cabinet ministers, Leader of the Opposition and elected representatives of various parties. Among all the speakers, Sanjot Yogita, Kashika, Sirsa and Rohan Sharma were selected as the best speakers. These students were honored with mementos and certificates. Commemorative Event in the memory of Freedom Fighter Baba Jawala Singh Thatian

A solemn and inspiring function was organised jointly by the Department of History and Punjabi at Lyallpur Khalsa College, in collaboration with IPSA Australia and Sahit Kala Kendra, Jalandhar, to commemorate the legacy of the great freedom fighter and Ghadar Party leader, Baba Jawala Singh Thatian. The event began with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Suman Chopra, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, who greeted the esteemed guests with bouquets, shawls, and mementos, and expressed gratitude for their valuable presence and contribution to the cause of history and culture. Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa (Retd.), Professor, Department of Punjabi, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was honoured during the event and awarded a sum of Rs. 21,000. National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Science, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology under theme of Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat. Dr. Abhinav Pratap Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar attended the event as the chief guest and keynote speaker. Tabla Workshop at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Around 80 students of the PG Department of Music of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar participated in one day workshop on Tabla. The renowned Tabla maestro of Punjab Gharana, Pandit Ramakant informed students on historical development and playing styles of Tabla. This information was given by the college Principal Dr. Suman Chopra who along with the resource person inaugurated the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, she reiterated the commitment of the institution to experiential learning by students. During the event the head of the department Prof. Sukhdev Singh and the students presented bhajans whereas Tabla Jugalbandi was performed by Bhagwat Kumar and Deepak Gauri, with harmonium accompaniment by Gurchetan Singh. Students of Physiotherapy Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College participated in State Level Conference

Around 35 Students of Physiotherapy Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar participated in the State Level Conference organized by Punjab Chapter of Indian Association of Physiotherapists. This information was given by the College Principal Dr. Suman Chopra who told that In the conference Simranjit Kaur of BPT Part IV, secured the overall third position in paper presentation. She added that the focus of these activities was to promote among the students learning by experience and participation of the students in such an activity was in following of this objective.
