Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates National Science Day

National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Science, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology under theme of Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat. Dr. Abhinav Pratap Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar attended the event as the chief guest and keynote speaker. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra and the Heads of the Departments of Sciences welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Suman Chopra congratulated the teachers and students on the occasion of Science Day and expressed her views on the importance of science in our lives. She inspired the students to show keen interest in the area of research and have a scientific temperament in your lives.

On this occasion, the chief guest and keynote speaker expressed his views on the importance of celebrating science day. He made the students aware about the importance of Quantum mechanics and its application. He asserted that quantum computing and quantum computers will be the backbone of the future of artificial intelligence. Keeping its importance in mind, the international year 2025 will be celebrated as the quantum science and technology year.  He inspired students to take interest in scientific research and make their future in this field. On this occasion, around 70 students from different colleges participated in inter-college powerpoint presentation, best out of waste, and poster presentation competitions. At the end of the event, Dr. Narveer Singh, Convener and Head, Department of Physics, thanked the chief guest, teachers and students. The stage was well conducted by Dr. Vikas Kumar and students Aastha and Swati.  In the event Dr. Rashpal Singh HOD Commerce, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur HOD Zoology and Botany, Dr. Balraj Kaur HOD English, Dr. Harjit Singh HOD Mathematics, Dr. Amritapl Singh Nindrayog, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Bhupinderpal Singh, Dr. Amanpreet Kaur Sandhu, Dr. Geetanjli Kaushal, Dr. Ranju Mahajan, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Navneet Arora, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Harshveer Arora, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Dr. Heminder Singh, Dr. Ravneet Kaur and Dr. Surbjit Singh was present and played important roles in the successful organization of the event. On this occasion, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Head, Department of Commerce, Dr. Harjit Singh, Head, Department of Mathematics, Dr. Balraj Kaur, Head, Department of English, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Department of History was also present.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਊਂਸਿਲ ਫਾਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ 'ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਡੇ' ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਸੀ; ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੋਬਲ ਲੀਡਰਸਿਪ ਲਈ ਸਸ਼ਕਤ ਕਰਨਾਂ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਅਭਿਨਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਡਾ. ਬੀ.ਆਰ. ਅੰਬੇਦਕਾਰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮਨ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਲਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮਨ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਰੁਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਸਦਕਾ ਹੀ ਅਜੋਕਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਦਿਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਵੱਲ ਰੁਚਿਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਡਾ. ਅਭਿਨਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਆਂਟਮ ਮਕੈਨਿਕਸ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੁਆਟਮ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਕੁਆਟਮ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰਜ਼ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੀ ਰੀੜ ਦੀ ਹੱਡੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੁਆਟਮ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਤੇ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਾਲ 2025 ਵਜੋਂ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਖੋਜ ਵਿਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੇ 70 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅੰਤਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਾਵਰ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਏਜੰਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਬੋਸਟ ਆਊਟ ਆਫ ਵੇਸਟ ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੀਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਪੋਜੀਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਐਚ.ਐਮ.ਵੀ. ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਬੈਸਟ ਆਊਟ ਆਫ ਵੇਸਟ ਇੰਦਟ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਾਲਜ, ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਐਚ.ਐਮ.ਵੀ. ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਫਾਰ ਵਿਮੈਨ, ਜਲੰਧਰ; ਪੀ.ਪੀ.ਟੀ. ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਐਚ.ਐਮ.ਵੀ. ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਨਰਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਵਿਜਿਕਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਆਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਤੀ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਮੁਖੀ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਮੁਖੀ ਜੁਆਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁਖੀ ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਬਲਰਾਜ ਕੌਰ ਮੁਖੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਰੰਜੂ ਮਹਾਜਨ, ਡਾ. ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸੰਧੂ, ਡਾ. ਗੀਤਾਂਜਲੀ ਕੌਂਸਲ, ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਨਵਨੀਤ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਡਾ. ਉਪਮਾ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਸਵੀਰ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਹੋਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਰਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
