Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included.   Post Graduate Department of Geography, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized a one day workshop on Fundamentals of Remote sensing and GIS. The resource person, Dr. Ripudaman Singh from Amity University, Noida, was welcomed by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr. Pooja Rana HoD Geography with bouquet of flowers.   The creative skills of students in the backdrop of natural beauty of the college campus were given expression in the event Flower Exhibition 2024 in Lyallpur Khalsa College.   Today on the second day of ‘Pedal4Peace Bicycle Yatra from Chandigarh to Wagah Border Amritsar, 21 bicyclists from Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab and Chandigarh, reached Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar via Khatkar Kalan, Banga.   The martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was observed in a reverent manner by the Post Graduate History Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar under the guidelines of the Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab.   NSS Units and Red Ribbon Club LKC organized a Blood Donation Camp in the college campus in collaboration with Shriman Hospital, Jalandhar and History Club LKC. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh inaugurated the camp by motivated the students to take part in this noble cause. He added that the blood donation rate in Punjab is less but the youth can reverse the scenario by donating as well as motivating others to donate blood. He advocated that by donating blood, we can serve humanity in real terms. He initiated the event by donating his blood. The Department of Music of the college has been doing its service towards music for many years. A one-day musical workshop was conducted by the department under the same series. In this musical workshop, famous Tabla Nawaz Ustad Kale Ram ji of Punjab Gharana informed the music students about the nuances of Tabla.   Over 500 students tested their fitness and atheletic skills in the  Annual Sports Meet of the Lyallpur Khalsa College today.  S. Karamjit Singh Rai, the renowned personality of the academic field, who was ill for some time, bid farewell to the mortal world.   NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized Voter Awareness Rally themed My Bharat My Vote#Vote4Sure.
