The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College organizes Alumni Tech-Talk


PG department of Computer Science and IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an Alumni Tech-Talk Program with Mr. Madhu Sudan who completed his M.Sc. Computer Science from 2002-2004 in the college. This program was organized to abridge the gap between academia and IT Sector and to connect the students of the department with old students working in different spheres on top positions of respective sectors.  After the formal welcome of the guest, Principal, Dr. Jaspal Singh, lauded the department's proactive initiative and advised students to embrace industry essentials through engaging seminars. He added that this kind of initiatives improve students' knowledge and skills, and enable them to acquire the relevant expertise needed in the dynamic world. The main speaker, Mr. Madhu Sudan who is presently working with Microsoft Company in California, USA, shared his valuable experience of 22 years in IT industry and described how he has contributed in the development of world class software like Microsoft Teams, Skype etc. He also recalled his college days when he founded techno students association of the department. He described various challenges in IT industry and emphasized that abundant opportunities wait for computer science graduates and postgraduates in the ever-expanding tech field. Mr. Madhu Sudan inspired students to utilize the college's cutting-edge computer labs to craft real-world projects. As the seminar drew to a close, there was an engaging question and answer session. At the end Head of Department Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand delivered vote of thanks. On this occasion, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur other faculty members of the department were also present. More than 100 students of the department benefited from this seminar.
