The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College’s Business Club and Commerce Association of Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized Sports Day


 

Sports Day was organized by Business Club and Commerce Association of Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar under the leadership of Principal Dr Jaspal Singh. The Head of Department of Commerce Dr Rashpal Singh Sandhu and the teachers of the department welcomed the Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh. Principal Sir congratulated the department for organizing this sports day and said that sports have a very important role for the overall development of our lives in today's time, along with education. He added that sports, in addition to physical fitness, inculcate moral qualities in students, such as tolerance, discipline, team work, cooperation, mutual respect etc. On this occasion, Dr. Rashpal Singh HOD said that our college has been breaking new grounds in the field of sports for the past several years. On this occasion, apart from cricket match (girls and boys), 100 meter race, three leg race, spoon race, tug-of-war competitions of students were conducted. In cricket, Yuvraj Singh (B.Com Semester-IV) and Puneet (M.Com Semester-IV) played the role of captains. Yuvraj Singh's team won the match. Manish, Abhinav and Sivam in boys 100 m race Sandlai, Shreya and Shivani in the girls 100m race won the position got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Manav, Suryansh and Shreya won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the lemon race. Students Balpreet, Suranyesh, Mantripat and Divayshu handled the stage well. Kanav, Kunal and Sukhdev Singh made a good impression by doing entertaining cricket commentary. Business Club President Shivani and Vice-President Gagandeep Verma and Secretary Shivansh and Commerce Association President Balpreet Kaur and Secretary Suranyesh organized the entire event with great enthusiasm under the leadership of Dr. Raminder Kaur Bhatia. Dr. Navdeep Kumar, Prof. Manish and Prof. Vineet Kumar Gupta played the role of umpires during the cricket match. Apart from this, other teachers of the department Prof. Amita Shaheed, Dr. Ubique Bedi, Prof. Vivek Mahajan, Prof. Ravneet Bains, Dr. Patwant Atwal, Dr. Pooja Ralhan Gulati, Dr. Jyoti Vohra, Prof. Kiratpreet Kaur and Prof. Harpreet were also present on this occasion.
