Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. An educational trip was organised by Planning Forum under the aegis of P.G. Department of Economics, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated the Dept. of Economics for organizing such visits to make the students understand the economic significance of the production units as they contribute to employment, national income/national output, tax contribution etc. He added that these physical visits are important to provide practical aspect to the academics. 38 students of B.Sc. Economics & M.A. Economics accompanied by Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Head, Department of Economics, Dr. S.S. Bains, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur and Prof. Ritika Sharma visited F.C. Sondhi Sports Goods production unit and Lamson Rubber & PU Chappel production Unit at Leather Complex, Jalandhar. During the visit, the students were made aware about the manufacturing process, accounts keeping, store keeping and packaging in the factories. Students interacted with management, staff and workers separately. The students also came to know about various social security schemes, protection measures during their service.
