Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included. Mani Ram Superannuation

   Sh. Mani Ram, LA, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar achieved a well deserved superannuation from the institution after an efficient and dedicated service spanning 34 years. A farewell party was organized by the college for this hardworking employee wherein Sh. Mani Ram was duly honoured by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh for his loyal services to the college. Lyallpur Khalsa College Annual Alumni Meet to Take Place on 5 December

 Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is going to organise it's annual alumni meet on December 5, 2023. This information was given by the College Principal Dr Jaspal Singh in a press conference today. Talking to the media persons, Dr .Jaspal Singh informed that the alumni meet was dedicated to Sardar Balbir Singh, the Ex member Loksabha and Rajya Sabha and the former president of the College Governing Council  and also an alumnus of the institution on his birth anniversary. Dr. Singh also informed that in this meet around 400 to 500 former students were going to participate and both online and offline registrations were open for the same.  Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar conducted Guru Nanak Dev University Inter-college Hockey championship at Burlton Park Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar from 14th November to 16th November.    Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for the overall development of its students and provides every opportunity possible to its students for self exploration. Recently, 05 NSS volunteers attended the Adventure Program at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering, Manali organized by Youth Services, Govt. of Punjab. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh felicitated the attendees and said that these camps provide students a blueprint to build up stamina, physical endurance. He added that valuable lessons learnt in these camps help to work in disaster management situations. NSS PO Prof Satpal Singh informed that NSS volunteers Harshit, Shubham, Yatin, Yuvraj from BCom Sem V and Pradum from BA Sem V attended this program where they acquired elementary skills of Rock Climbing, Rappelling, River Crossing, Trekking, Camping and Leadership.   Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar has won Guru Nanak Dev University inter college Weight Lifting and Badminton Championships.   Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, NSS Units and NCC Army Wing of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, initiated a Voter Awareness Campaign. Principal Dr. Singh, on this occasion said that volunteers and cadets of the college should play an active role in the upcoming elections of municipal corporations, municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats by motivating the adults above 18 years of age to cast their votes.   Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the Post-Graduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized inter-departmental poetry recitation and essay writing competitions in which students from different departments of the college participated.
