The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of Lyallpur Khalsa College conducted inter-departmental poetry recitation and essay writing competitions

 



Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the Post-Graduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized inter-departmental poetry recitation and essay writing competitions in which students from different departments of the college participated. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, speaking on this occasion, said that where our students excel in the academic field, they also have their own unique identity in the literary field. On this occasion, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand, head of the department and Prof. Kuldeep Sodhi, coordinator, Punjabi Sahitya Sabha, gave information about the activities conducted by the department. Later, Principal sir distributed prizes to the winners in the events. In the poetry recitation competition, Navleen, a B.Sc. Vth semester student, won the first place, Harpreet Kaur and Dupinder Kaur won the second place and Lovepreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur won the third place. Prof Bhavna and Prof Balraj Singh played the role of judges in this competition. In the essay writing competition, MA 3rd semester student Lovepreet Kaur and 1st semester student Kuljit Kaur won the first place, Kamla Devi and Kirandeep Kaur won the second place and Bobby Bhargava, Manpreet Kaur and Germanjit Kaur won the third place. Prof. Kuldeep Sodhi, Coordinator of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha thanked the teachers and students present and also gave information about the literary activities of the Sahitya Sabha. On this occasion, teachers of the department Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Balraj Singh, Prof. Preeti, Prof. Gurmukh Singh and Dr. Sandeep Kaur were present.
