Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Lyallpur Khalsa College Lifts First Runner-up Trophy in Inter Zonal Youth Festival

 



Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar continued its impressive run in the field of cultural activities by winning the first runners up trophy along with runner up trophies in Music and Folk events at Guru Nanak Dev University Inter-Zonal Youth Festival. The college participated in 22 events and won the first runners up trophy by scoring 61 points. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and his entire cultural team and winners on this achievement. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that the college won first prize in 04 events, second in 07 events and third in 05 events en route to claiming the podium finish. He said that our student artists are glorifying the name of the college in the country and abroad as well. He further added that we are very proud of our talented students. He said that we are always committed for the development of students in education and other fields. He said that the college had also won the first runner up trophy of 'C-Zone' in the zonal youth festival of the university. Earlier due to the tireless efforts of all the team in-charges and students, the College has won the overall trophy in the Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University in 2014-15 and 2015-16 and 2018-19 and first runner up in the years 2016-17 and 2017-18, 2021-22 and 2023-24. He congratulated Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh, Music Incharge Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Literary Incharge Dr. Surinder Pal Mand & Prof. Satpal Singh, Theatre Incharge Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Fine Arts Incharge Dr. Ajitpal Singh, staff and students of the college on this achievement. Positions won by the college in the multiple events are as follows:

•First Prize: Classical Instrument (Per), Classical Instrument (Non-Per), Bhangra, Group Dance (Luddi)

•Second Prize: Folk Orchestra, Classical Vocal Solo, Vaar, Poster Making, Skit, Group Shabad, Western Group Song.

•Third Prize: Gidha. Clay Modelling, Group Song Indian, Elocution, Western Vocal Solo.
