Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes One Day Cleanliness Camp

NSS Unit Lyallpur Khalsa College, Red Ribbon Club and History Club under Seva Se Seekhen and Swachh Bharat Campaign organized One Day Cleanliness Camp in college campus. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra initiated the campaign and motivated the volunteers to actively participate in this national movement. She opined that charity begins at home. First clean your educational home and then increase the radius of the drive gradually. She suggested involving the community in these drives to increase the impact of these social activities.  Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh said that cleanliness drives at mass level are very crucial to make the surroundings clean and green. He informed that to inculcate the values of cleanliness and Shramdaan (manual work) volunteers were assigned areas for cleanliness. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is constantly striving for all-round development of its students. Accordingly, the students of the college participated enthusiastically in the wall painting competitions organized by the Commissionerate of Police Jalandhar regarding drug addiction and secured second place. The President of the Governing Council at the college, Sardarni Balbir Kaur and Principal Dr. Suman Chopra congratulated the students and motivated them to work harder in the future. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra advised the students to stay away from drugs and described the role of youth as the most important in the drug addiction campaign. Second Bhangra Gold Cup organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College

The second Bhangra Gold Cup was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Bhangra teams from different districts participated in it. On this occasion, famous folk singer and actor Sarabjit Cheema was the chief guest and Ms. Ekjot Kaur was the special guest. Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the college Dr. Suman Chopra said that Bhangra was the folk dance of Punjab and it was the duty of all Punjabis to promote and propagate it. In his address Chief guest Sarabjit Cheema appreciated the effort made by the college in promoting Bhangra, and expressed special gratitude to the President Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur. Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club LKC organized a Rally to spread awareness regarding HIV/AIDS. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra in her message stated that there is a lack of knowledge of HIV/AIDS in India among adults which needs to be increased through the mass events by involving youth. She advised the students to maintain a healthy lifestyle and engage in physical activities. Later, she flagged off the rally.
