Release of Santokh Bhullar's book on Saroop Singh's painting at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and Sahitya Kala Kendra organized a public presentation ceremony of the unique and very important book "Chitran Da Sahitya Sumail" written by versatile writer Santokh Bhullar. The book is about the cultural history of the portraits of Punjabi literary figures as portrayed by internationally renowned Punjabi painter Sardar Saroop Singh. The event was held at the college auditorium. In this book, one hundred and fifteen Punjabi writers related to Sufi, Gurmat, Qisa and modern literary trends along with portraits prepared by Saroop Singh of personalities belonging to five other cultures and informative written by Santokh Bhullar about the life and contribution of those personalities are included. Function organized on Superannuation of Prof. Jaswinder Kaur at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Teaching Staff today at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar bid adieu to Prof. Jaswinder Kaur who attained superannuation after a long and meritorious service of 28 years in the Department of Zoology of the College. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh appreciated the loyalty and commitment of Prof. Jaswinder Kaur towards the College, and presented her souvenirs and wished her happy and healthy retired life. On this occasion, Vice Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur read the citation presented to Prof. Jaswinder Kaur. In her farewell speech, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur expressed her sense of belongingness with the institution and commitment to the society. On this occasion, she gave a detailed account of her association with the Department. Prof. Jaswinder Kaur and her husband were specially honored by all the teaching staff and Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh. Cyclist Crusader Bahu Sehab Bhawar reached Lyallpur Khalsa College campaigning against social evils

  Bahusaheb Bawar, cyclist crusader against social evils reached Lyallpur Khalsa College during his journey to India. Bahusehab belongs to Maharashtra and has so far cycled across India five times to convey his message against social evils. Now, he is making this journey for the sixth time. The purpose of his visit is to directly interact with the youth of the country to end dowry, infanticide, and drugs. He is currently going to various educational institutions of Punjab and are trying to make them aware against these social evils by interacting with the students. On reaching Lyallpur Khalsa College, he was welcomed by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh. Colonel Vinod Joshi, commanding officer, 2 Punjab NCC was also with him. Bhangra Gold Cup was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College

  Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar continuously strives for the all-round development of its students. Therefore, along with studies here, students also excel in other arts. Breaking grounds in the field of art, the Bhangra artistes of the college leave their mark all over the world. Under the same series, 'Bhangra Gold Cup-2024' was organized at the College in the interest of promoting Bhangra with the support of alumni of the college. Mr. Sarabjit Cheema, Punjabi Film artist and singer attended the inaugural function and Dr. Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Youth Welfare, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana attended the evening event as Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh welcomed them by giving them a bouquet and a memento from the college. 75th Republic Day celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College

  The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at Lyallpur Khalsa College, the premier educational institution of North India. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh took salute from the march past of NCC cadets of the college. The cadets of the Army wing were commanded by Senior Under Officer Jaspreet and the Air Wing by Senior Under Officer Laxman. Dr. Singh said on this occasion that this Republic Day has brought a moment of pride for our students because this year five students of the college have become a part of the National Republic Parade in Delhi.  The students of Lyallpur Khalsa Jalandhar College excel in academics, sports and cultural pursuits in addition to partaking in extracurricular activities like NCC and NSS. On the 75th Republic Day, 13 students will participate in the march past in the regional event being hosted at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar, while NCC cadets Abhishek Kumar and Gudiya Verma will represent the college on Kartavya Path in Delhi. In a press statement, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh stated that the college is pleased with the efforts and accomplishments of its students.   It is a matter of pride for Jalandhar that 04 NSS volunteers of Lyallpur Khalsa College will participate in 75th Republic Day Celebrations at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh in his message congratulated the volunteers and said that 04 female volunteers of the college representing Punjab in the grand celebrations is very symbolic for this year's Republic Day's theme of  Women Empowerment. Abhishek Kumar, BA second-year student of the Lyallpur Khalsa College will march in the 75th Republic Day celebrations on Kartavya Pathin New Delhi on 26 January, 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that this is a proud moment for the college's NCC unit. He added that the college's NCC unit, led by ANO Lt. Karanbir Singh, has been taking part in Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations for the past three years. The college's NCC unit is associated with the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion.   NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar observed Road Safety Week from 11 to 18 January 2024 in collaboration with NYKS and Traffic Education Cell Jalandhar. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh on this occasion motivated the volunteers of Lyallpur Khalsa College to be ambassadors of Road Safety. He added that due to lack of awareness of traffic rules many people die in road accidents every year. This loss of life could be minimized by spreading awareness about rules related to road safety. Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that the road safety week was initiated on 11th January 2024 in a seminar where Mr Shamsher Singh, ASI, Traffic Education Cell, through his observations and experiences, explained the ways to save lives on road.   NSS units and Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar celebrated National Youth Day with a series of activities related to youth and social welfare through out the week under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh. Principal, in his opening remarks, motivated youth to participate in the activities that promote national development and integrity. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for achievements in the field of academics as well as in the field of sports. In the same series, the college has created a record by winning the Inter College First Runner Up General Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, has been appointed as the observer of the All India Inter-Varsity Championship 2023-24 being organized by the Association of India Universities, New Delhi. from 2nd to 12th January 2024 at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiala (Jalandhar). A total of 32 Indian university teams are participating in this championship, which have been divided into 8 pools as per AIU rules. This championship is being organized league cum knock-out basis. This appointment has been made because of Dr. Jaspal Singh specialization sports and contribution in the field of competitive sports.  

Lyallpur Khalsa College Students performed at the Harivallabh Music Festival

  Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar excel in academics as well as other co-curricular activities. Recently, the students of the department of Music of the college gave musical performances at the famous Sri Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan. The student artistes and teachers performed Shabad Rachana, Sarvaswati Vandanas and Harivallabh Vandanas on the very first day of the Sangeet Summit and made the audience sway to the music. College Governing Council President Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the student artists for this performance and wished them the best to continue their journey.
