Lyallpur Khalsa College Students performed at the Harivallabh Music Festival

 

Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar excel in academics as well as other co-curricular activities. Recently, the students of the department of Music of the college gave musical performances at the famous Sri Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan. The student artistes and teachers performed Shabad Rachana, Sarvaswati Vandanas and Harivallabh Vandanas on the very first day of the Sangeet Summit and made the audience sway to the music. College Governing Council President Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulated the student artists for this performance and wished them the best to continue their journey. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that the world famous Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan is a 148-year-old popular music convention of North India which is held every year in the last week of December in the memory of the famous musician of this region Sh. Harivallabh Ji that lasts for three days. He said that it is a matter of great pride for us that our students received the blessings of Baba Harivallabh ji by giving their musical performance on this big stage. He said that the preparation of these presentations was done by Prof. Sukhdev Singh, head of the department of music and was accompanied by Prof. Gunveer Singh and Prof. Aakash Sharma on tabla and student Som Bahadur on guitar. He encouraged the students of the department to participate more and more in this kind of convention.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਦੂਜੀਆਂ ਪਾਠ-ਸਹਾਇਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਨਾਮਣਾ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ 'ਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਵੱਲਭ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਲਗਾਈ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਚਨਾ, ਸਰਵਸਵਤੀ ਵੰਦਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਵੱਲਭ ਵੰਦਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੂਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੇ ਸ੍ਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਮਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਸਫਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁੱਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹਰਿਵੱਲਭ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਉੱਤਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ੧੪੮ ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਵੱਲਭ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਦਸੰਬਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰਲੇ ਹਫਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬੜੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੰਚ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਹਰਿਵੱਲਭ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਲੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਣਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਤਬਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸੋਮ ਬਹਾਦੁਰ ਨੇ ਗਿਟਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ।
