Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates Bhagat Singh’s Martyrdom day

The PG Department of History of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organised a series of literary competitions to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the great freedom fighter S. Bhagat Singh on his martyrdom day. The programme included essay, poetry and elocution competitions, in which students from various academic disciplines participated enthusiastically.  Presiding over the programme, Principal Dr. Rachpal Singh Sandhu paid heartfelt tributes to the martyr. He said, “Bhagat Singh was not only a revolutionary but also a profound thinker whose ideals of social justice and equality are more relevant today than ever. It is a great joy to see our youth connecting with his philosophy. I hope every student draws inspiration from his spirit of selfless service and courage, so as to make a meaningful contribution to the progress of the country.” Acting Head of the Department Dr. Amandeep Kaur highlighted the historical significance of Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom. She said: “Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice ignited a flame of patriotism that ultimately led to India’s independence. Through these competitions, we aim to ensure that his intellectual legacy and his unwavering commitment to the motherland continue to inspire the next generation of historians and leaders." Students from the faculties of Science, Commerce and Arts showcased their creative talents. The participants presented passionate speeches and emotional poems dedicated to the ideology of Bhagat Singh. Harshdeep Kaur (History) and Arshdeep Kaur (B.Com.) jointly secured the first position in the essay writing competition. Shivani Pandey and Harshpreet Kaur, both students of history, secured second and third positions respectively. In poetry writing, Bhavesh and Moksh secured first and second positions respectively. In the speech competition, Sharanpreet Kaur, Shivani Pandey and Devansh and Arshpreet Kaur secured the first, second and third positions respectively. Dr. Karanbir Singh, Prof. Amandeep Kaur and Prof. Zeenat Di  helped in the smooth running of various phases of the programme and also served as judges. The programme concluded with the faculty and students taking a collective oath to uphold the values ​​of democracy and national integrity.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਘੁਲਾਟੀਏ ਸ. ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਲੜੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ: ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਸਨ ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਵੀ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਨਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਅੱਜ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਿਕ ਹਨ। ਸਾਡੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਸਵਾਰਥ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ 'ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ। ਇਕੱਠ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ: "ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਲਾਟ ਜਗਾਈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਸਾਡਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤ ਭੂਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੇ। ਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਵਣਜ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਟਸ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚਨਾਤਮਕ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਜੋਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵਪੂਰਨ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਹਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (ਇਤਿਹਾਸ) ਅਤੇ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ.) ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼ਿਵਾਨੀ ਪਾਂਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ, ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਵਿਤਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ, ਭਾਵੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਕਸ਼ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸ਼ਰਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼ਿਵਾਨੀ ਪਾਂਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਾਂਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਸ਼ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਕਰਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜ਼ੀਨਤ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੜਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਈਆਂ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਖੰਡਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਸਹੁੰ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ।
