Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes Awareness Lecture and Nukkad Natak on Drug Abuse

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed to contribute to social causes. Under the directions of the Govt. of India aligned with the Govt. of Punjab's Anti Drug Campaign, the college's Aristotle Society of Life Sciences, Grievances Redressal Committee, Dept. of Physical Education & Sports, History Club and NSS Unit in collaboration with S. Ajit Singh Foundation Society organized an awareness lecture and Nukkad Natak on Drug Abuse. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra, along with the organizing committee, welcomed the resource person Ms. Parveen Abrol, a social activist with a bouquet. Principal Dr. Chopra in her address motivated the youth to commit themselves for nation building and abstain from taking drugs. Ms. Parveen Abrol in her lecture described the root causes of drug consumption and its aftermath with real life examples. She also discussed the remedies to this menace and opined that the quality time spent by parents and their kids together is the most effective way to deal with this problem. She appreciated efforts of the college to organize such events to inculcate optimism and moral values in the students. Later, two Nukkad Natak related to drug and other social issues were played by NSS volunteers and the college theatre team. A mass pledge was also taken to keep others aware about the ill effects of drug usage. Stage was conducted by NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh During the event, Vice Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Registrar and convener of the event Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, President of S. Ajit Singh Foundation Society Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur, Dr. Anu Moom, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Heminder Singh, Dr. Harshveer Arora and a large number of students and NSS volunteers were also present. 

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ : ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਅਰਸਤੂ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਆਫ ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼, ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਨਿਵਾਰਨ ਕਮੇਟੀ, ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਯੂਨਿਟ ਨੰ.ਸ. ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਫਾਊਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਨੁਕੜ ਨਾਟਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮਨ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪਰਵੀਨ ਅਬਰੇਲ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਦਸਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸ਼ਾਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪਰਵੀਨ ਅਬਰੋਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਦਾਹਰਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਦੇ ਉਪਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਾਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬਿਤਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਵਧੀਆ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਸ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਐਨਐਸਐਸ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਟੀਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਦੋ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਵੀ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ। ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਸਹੁੰ ਵੀ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਗਈ। ਸਟੇਜ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਐਨਐਸਐਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨਵਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਸ. ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਅਨੂ ਮੂਮ, ਡਾ. ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਹੈਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਸਵੀਰ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
