Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrates World Environment Day by organizing Tree Plantation Drive


Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed to provide quality education as well as social and environment awareness. NSS unit in collaboration with District Legal Authority Services Jalandhar organized a plantation drive under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. Principal Dr Suman Chopra in her message said that it is high time to understand the need to pay back to nature. Humans have exploited mother earth and now these plantation drives, no use of plastic and cautious use of natural resources are the simple ways to reverse the situation. Vice Principal of the college, Prof. Navdeep Kaur initiated the drive. She appreciated the efforts of NSS unit volunteers and advised them to take care of these plants as well. NSS Program officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that total 51 plants like Mango, amaltas, drek, Sukhchain, Kaner, estonia etc. were planted during this drive in the college campus and surrounding areas. During this drive, Mr. Azad from District Legal Authority Services, Jalandhar appreciated the efforts of the college. The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr.Harjit Singh, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Mr. Kulwinder Bagga, Mr. Surinder Kumar Chalotra PA to Principal and number of students.
