Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Scholarships worth rupees 1,00,000/- were awarded to the needy and deserving students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by S. Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust today. Speaking on the occasion the College President Governing Council, Sardarni Balbir Kaur lauded the Trust for extending this financial support to students. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that the Trust had been providing financial help to the students of the college for a number of years. He also reiterated the commitment of the college to affordable and quality education, adding that all possible efforts would be made to support meritorious and deserving students. Every year, S. Jaswant Singh Rai’s son Dr. KS Rai himself comes and presents this amount of scholarship to the college, but this year his son S. Amarjit Singh Rai specially arrived at the college from America. The recipients of this scholarship were Shweta Arora, Sucheta, Jasneet Kaur, Nisha, Bhawna, Radhika Dahry, Ravinder Kaur, Aastha, Anurag and Vishal. Apart from Joint Secretary S.
