The Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp will start at Lyallpur Khalsa College from 11th July 2024 (Registration will be held on 9th and 10th July at 5:00 PM at Open Air Theatre)

Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Alumni Meet at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar


 

The latest edition of the Alumni Meet of Lyallpur Khalsa College marking 85th birth anniversary of Late Sardar Babir Singh, former Member Parliament, former Cabinet Minister, Punjab and former President of College Governing Council, was organised with enthusiasm and festivity. Former hockey captain India and an alumnus of the college Padamshree Sardar Ajitpal Singh was the Chief Guest on this momentous occasion. The President of the College Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur along with the members of the Governing Council and Principal Dr Jaspal Singh warmly welcomed the chief guest.  Speaking on the occasion, the College Principal said that the institution owed a lot to the visionary guidance of Sardar Balbir Singh for its current status and this Alumni event was organised as a tribute to his contribution to the college. In his emotional and motivating address, Chief Guest Sardar Ajit Pal Singh proudly recollected his past experiences in the college and how instrumental the college had been in his and other alumni’s personal and professional lives. He also appreciated the leadership of the college Governing Council. On this occasion international hockey player Gurjot Singh who represented India at Junior level was honoured for his significant achievement. Alumni from different fields also shared their experiences and offered feedback and suggestions to the college. In the cultural programm organised during the event, Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Head, Department of Music and the students of the college enthralled the audience with folk song, Ghazal, Western Group Song and  Punjabi Geet presentations. Gidha was performed by the college students.  The stage on this occasion was conducted by Dr Surinderpal Mand and Harjinder Singh. Among the  distinguished guests present were S.
