Tabla Workshop at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Around 80 students of the PG Department of Music of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar participated in one day workshop on Tabla. The renowned Tabla maestro of Punjab Gharana, Pandit Ramakant informed students on historical development and playing styles of Tabla. This information was given by the college Principal Dr. Suman Chopra who along with the resource person inaugurated the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, she reiterated the commitment of the institution to experiential learning by students. During the event the head of the department Prof. Sukhdev Singh and the students presented bhajans whereas Tabla Jugalbandi was performed by Bhagwat Kumar and Deepak Gauri, with harmonium accompaniment by Gurchetan Singh. Vote of thanks on the occasion was presented by Prof. Sukhdev Singh. Students of Physiotherapy Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College participated in State Level Conference

Around 35 Students of Physiotherapy Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar participated in the State Level Conference organized by Punjab Chapter of Indian Association of Physiotherapists. This information was given by the College Principal Dr. Suman Chopra who told that In the conference Simranjit Kaur of BPT Part IV, secured the overall third position in paper presentation. She added that the focus of these activities was to promote among the students learning by experience and participation of the students in such an activity was in following of this objective. Lyallpur Khalsa College Students Visit Punjab Vidhan Sabha

P G Department of Political Science of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized an educational tour of students to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. This information was given by the college Principal Dr. Suman Chopra who briefed that participating 53 students of the department were welcomed by Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan and they got an opportunity to witness a live session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. She also informed that Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi MLA Banga described this visit of the students as commendable as it introduced students to the democratic setup of the Indian political system. Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes One Day Blood Donation Camp

NSS Unit & Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with Blood Bank, Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, Social Sensitization Cell, NGO Dishadeep and Aristotle Society of Life Sciences organized ‘One Day Blood Donation Camp’ in the college campus. Principal Dr. Suman Chopra inaugurated the camp and stated that there are only 8 donors per thousand people in India which is very less. Due to road accidents, thalassemia and other medical conditions patients requiring blood have increased in the last decade. She added that blood donation is the supreme service to humanity and we must come forward to donate blood. We can save three lives with one unit of blood.
