Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates Bhagat Singh’s Martyrdom day

The PG Department of History of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organised a series of literary competitions to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the great freedom fighter S. Bhagat Singh on his martyrdom day. The programme included essay, poetry and elocution competitions, in which students from various academic disciplines participated enthusiastically.  Presiding over the programme, Principal Dr. Rachpal Singh Sandhu paid heartfelt tributes to the martyr. The Post-Graduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, celebrated its Platinum Jubilee on March 19–20, 2026, marking 75 years of its establishment. The first day was dedicated to various activities related to Punjabi language, literature, and culture, while the second day featured cultural programs, interactive sessions, and theatrical performances. At the outset of the second day's program, Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President of the College Governing Council, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Platinum Jubilee celebration is organised on 19-20 March 2026 at the completion of 75 years of the Postgraduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. Various activities related to Punjabi language, literature and culture are being organized including a heritage village and a book exhibition in which about 12 publishers participated. M.A. Punjabi was initiated in 1950. This department has produced renowned personalities in the field of Punjabi language, literature and culture, due to which it has a unique history. On the first day of the program, inter-college quiz competition, poster making, poetry competition were conducted, and a poet's court was also organized with the support of the Central Punjabi Writers' Association in which renowned poets participated. The Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a one-day workshop on the McKenzie Technique. The proceedings commenced with a traditional shabad recitation. Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar provides a conducive environment to its employees and students for their mental well being and good health. Recently, a 16 overs cricket match was played between Teaching XI and Non-Teaching XI at the college playground. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu attended the event as the chief guest. Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes One Day Blood Donation Camp

NSS Unit & Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with Blood Bank, Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar organized One Day Blood Donation Camp in the college campus. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu inaugurated the camp and motivated the participants to donate blood. He said India is world's most populated country but it is sad to see very less donors per thousand in India. This is very less in comparison to the demand of blood due to road accidents, thalassemia and other medical conditions. Some patients fail to get required blood. He opined that blood donation is the supreme donation and NSS unit LKC is doing true service to humanity by organising such events.
