The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized a Skill Enhancement Workshop on the topic “How to Write Cover Letter & CV for Getting a Job” . The primary objective of this workshop was to make students understand the art and technique of writing a professional cover letter and preparing an effective CV, which are essential tools in securing suitable employment opportunities in today’s competitive world.The resource person for the session, Dr. Charanjit Singh, Convener of the Career Counselling and Placement Cell, conducted an insightful and interactive session. He explained in detail how a well-crafted cover letter can help a candidate stand out among numerous applicants, and how a systematically organized CV reflects a student’s academic achievements, skills, and strengths. Dr. Singh also guided students on what kind of activities and skill-building efforts they should undertake during their college years to enhance the volume and effectiveness of their CVs. He further discussed various national and international job platforms where students can upload their CVs to expand their employment prospects beyond geographical boundaries.The session was graced by Dr. Suman Chopra, Principal of the college, who addressed the students and commended the initiative of the Career Counselling and Placement Cell for organizing such a career-oriented and practical workshop. She emphasized that in the current job scenario, the ability to present oneself professionally through a well-written cover letter and a concise, impactful CV is a crucial employability skill.Vice Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur also appreciated the efforts of the Cell and motivated students to take maximum advantage of such skill enhancement opportunities.The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 students from different streams. The event was also attended by the other members of the Career Counselling and Placement Cell — Dr. Ratnakar Mann and Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra — along with faculty members Dr. Geetanjali Mahajan from the Department of English and Prof. Sandeep Singh from the Department of Punjabi. The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session where students sought practical advice on resume improvement, formatting, and job application strategies. The session proved to be extremely informative, motivating, and beneficial for all participants, equipping them with valuable skills to confidently step into the job market.

 

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ Career Counselling and Placement Cell ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ "How to Write Cower Letter & V for Getting a Job" ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ Skill Enhancement Workshop ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਕਵਰ ਲੈਟਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸੀਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਸਿਖਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਰੇਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਡਾ. ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਕਨਵੀਨਰ, Career Counselling and Placement Cell ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਵਰ ਲੈਟਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੀਵੀ ਲਿਖਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਵਰ ਲੈਟਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਸੰਗਠਿਤ ਸੀਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਦੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ, ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਭਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਡਾ. ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਸ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੀਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸੋਵੀ ਅਪਲੋਡ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮਨ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਗਤੀ ਭਾਸਣ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ Career Counselling and Placement Cell ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਵਹਾਰਕ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਰਾਹਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰਕ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਕਵਰ ਲੈਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਣਾਇਕ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ CV ਉਸਦੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁਚਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਮ ਜਰਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨਵਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੋਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਿੱਲ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਲਾਭ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰੀਬ 60 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਚਤਨਾਕਰ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰਾ - fa Career Counselling and Placement Cell ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹਨ - ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਡਾ. ਗੀਤਾਂਜਲੀ ਮਹਾਜਨ (ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ (ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ) ਦੀ ਉਪਸਥਿਤ ਰਹੇ।ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਐਕਟਿਵ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨੋਤਰੀ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵੀ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੰਕਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਲਈ। ਇਹ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ।
