Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates Shaheed Bhagat Singh's birth anniversary

The birth anniversary of Sardar Bhagat Singh was celebrated with great devotion today by the Centre for Historical Studies under the Post Graduate Department of Histoory of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with NSS unit. In this event, a speech competition was organized on the life, ideology and contribution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The event began with a floral tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Suman Chopra, in her message, inspired the youth to follow the path shown by Sardar Bhagat Singh. Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Dean Sports and Head Department of Commerce and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Registrar & Head of Botany & Zoology attended the event as the chief guests. In the speech competition, Ekta Pandey of MA English won first, Vanshika of BAJMC won second and Brahmjot Singh and Sharanpreet Kaur jointly won third place respectively. Moreover, Arshdeep Kaur got consolation prize. Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dr. Ajitpal Singh and Dr. Geetanjali judged the participants in the competition. Dr. Karanvir Singh managed the stage. Dr. Amandeep Kaur paid the vote of thanks. NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh, Dr. Harjit Singh, Head of PG Dept.of Mathematics and Prof. Amandeep Kaur from Dept.of History with students and NSS volunteers witnessed this event.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਧੀਨ ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਹਿਸਟੋਰੀਕਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਵਲੋਂ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਜ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਬੜੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ । ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ, ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮਨ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਗਏ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ, ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁੱਖੀ ਬੋਟਨੀ ਜੂਆਲੋਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ । ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਕਤਾ ਪਾਂਡੇ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਵਨਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਤੀਸਰਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਪਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਗੀਤਾਂਜਲੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਗਈ। ਡਾ. ਕਰਨਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਟੇਜ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ ਦੇ ਚੀਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁੱਖੀ ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ |
