Sahit Kala Kendra awards 9th Ghadri Bhai Santokh Singh Dhardio Award to Dr. Jagroop Singh Sekhon

Sahit Kala Kendra Jalandhar and Ipsa Australia in collaboration with the Postgraduate Punjabi Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, a leading institution in North India, presented the 9th Ghadri Bhai Santokh Singh Dhardio Award 2025 to political thinker Dr. Jagroop Singh Sekhon. The event was organized at the college auditorium, in which Dr. Amarjit Singh Sidhu was the chief guest. The function was attended by the college principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Prof. Jagir Singh Kahlon, Bhupinder Singh Malli and Comrade Gurmeet Singh. Welcoming the guests to the college, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that it has been a tradition of Sahitya Kala Kendra and Ipsa Australia to honour personalities who have achieved special achievements in various fields. After this, the President of the Sahit Kala Kendra, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar explained the importance of this event and shared information about the personalities associated with this honour. The Chief Guest Dr. Amarjit Singh Sidhu, who has been the Head and Professor of the Department of Commerce and Management of Guru Nanak Dev University, said that it is a matter of pride for him to be a part of this event. Former Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science, Guru Nanak Dev University, who was honoured with the Bhai Santokh Singh Dhardeo Award, Dr. Jagroop Singh Sekhon, described this honour as an important achievement of his life. He said that the current political situation is having a deep impact on the youth today. Apart from these, Comrade Gurmeet Singh, Prof. Jagir Singh Kahlon, S. Bhupinder Singh Malhi shared their views with the audience. Comrade Gurmeet Singh, Prof. Jagir Singh Kahlon, S. Bhupinder Singh, journalist Jatinder Singh Pammi and Master Jasvir Singh were specially honored by the college. At the end of the event, the patron of the Sahit Kala Kendra, Sital Singh Sangha, thanked the distinguished guests, teachers and students. Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon played the role of stage secretary well. Members of the Sahitya Kala Kendra, writers, thinkers, professors of the Department of Punjabi, heads of various departments, teachers and students attended this event.

ਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਪਸਾ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਮੌਰ ਸੰਸਥਾ, ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੌਵਾਂ ਗ਼ਦਰੀ ਭਾਈ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਰਦਿਓ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ 2025, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਡਾ. ਜਗਰੂਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੱਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਰੇਡ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਆਇਆਂ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਪਸਾ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਇਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਡਾ. ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੁੱਟਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲ਼ੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ। ਭਾਈ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਰਦਿਓ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਸਾਸਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਡਾ. ਜਗਰੂਪ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜੋਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਅੱਜ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਗਹਿਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਰੇਡ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਸ. ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਨੇ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਕਾਮਰੇਡ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਸ. ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਸਟਰ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਆਖੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਇੰਜ: ਸੀਤਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਘਾ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਪੱਤਵੰਤੇ ਸੱਜਣਾ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਟੇਜ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਨ, ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ, ਚਿੰਤਕ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ।
