Road Safety Awareness Program organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed for its social welfare and continuously strives for the betterment of society. NSS unit Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with District Traffic Police and NYKS organized 03 day Road Safety Awareness Program to make citizens aware about road safety. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh initiated as well as concluded the drive. He conveyed that it is the collective responsibility of all the citizens, traffic police and administration to minimize road accidents. He emphasised that lack of road safety awareness, use of alcohol and mobiles while driving are major causes of road accidents. He appealed to the participants to spread the message of the value of life while driving. Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that NSS volunteers organized rallies, showed placards and posters at BSF Chowk , GT Road, Hargobind pura and Bus stand. He added that a valedictory program on Road Safety Awareness Program experience sharing and speech contest on Road Safety were conducted. Inspector Ranjit Singh from Traffic police guided the volunteers during this drive. Ms. Neha Sharma, District Youth Officer, NYKS, Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar and Mr. Kulwinder Kumar were also present during the closing ceremony.

 

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੈ। ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਯੂਨਿਟ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੂਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 03 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ, ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ, ਗੱਡੀ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚੀਫ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਐਫ. ਚੌਕ, ਜੀਟੀ ਰੋਡ, ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦਪੁਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਸ ਸਟੈਂਡ 'ਤੇ ਰੈਲੀਆਂ ਕੱਢੀਆਂ, ਤਖ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਕਸ਼ਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਰਿਫਲੈਕਟਰ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ 'ਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਨੇਹਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਯੁਵਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੂਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
