Lyallpur Khalsa College student wins State Level Red Run Marathon

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar provides ample opportunities to its students in the field of academics, co-curricular and sports to excel at state, national and international level. Recently, Punjab State AIDS Control Society and Directorate of Youth Services, Govt. of Punjab organized a state level Red Run Marathon of 5 km at Ludhiana which was won by student of B.A.-V semester Shamsher Singh, a Red Ribbon club member of LKC. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh felicitated the winner and in his congratulatory message motivated him to do better at the next level. He further added that these mega events are very crucial to spread awareness about deadly viruses like HIV/AIDS. Prof. Satpal Singh, Coordinator of LKC RRC informed that Shamsher has won first position at district and state level and won cash prizes at both levels. Next, he will compete at national level. The state level competition saw more than 200 athletes from Punjab. Moreover, in the girls category, student Anchal (B.A.) of RRC LKC got 7th position at the state level marathon too. The participants thanked the Governing Council, Principal and RRC LKC for this wonderful opportunity.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਾਜ ਏਡਜ਼ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੁਵਕ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿਖੇ 5 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਰੈੱਡ ਰੰਨ ਮੈਰਾਥਨ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਐਲ.ਕੇ.ਸੀ. ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਪੰਜਾਵਾਂ) ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਲੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਧੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਐੱਚ.ਆਈ.ਵੀ./ਏਡਜ਼ ਵਰਗੇ ਘਾਤਕ ਵਾਇਰਸਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਮੈਗਾ ਈਵੈਂਟ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਨਕਦ ਇਨਾਮ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਅੱਗੇ, ਉਹ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ 200 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਐਥਲੀਟਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਆਂਚਲ ਨੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਮੈਰਾਥਨ ਵਿੱਚ 7ਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਲਈ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
