Teej festival was celebrated with great pomp at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, the premier academic institution of North India, celebrated the festival ‘Teej’, dedicated to girls. Folk songs, gidha, group dance and solo dance etc. were performed by the students. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh participated in this program as the chief guest. He said that it is a matter of great pride for us that our students are making the college proud with good performance in academic, cultural, musical and sports events. He said that the women are at front and progressing immensely in every field today. He added that Punjabi culture is very rich and we should feel proud to be associated with it. Highly appreciating the program convener Dr. Gagandeep Kaur and his entire team for organizing this program he congratulated all the Punjabis on this cultural festival. Presenting the cultural program Neha, Ravleen Kaur and Anuradha students of the Department of Music, gave a presentation of folk song, Geeta da Guldasta and Mirza. While Sandeep and Rekha Rani of the non-teaching staff performed dance. Similarly, group dance and folk dance Giddha were presented by the college students. Miss Teej Natasha, first runner-up Manjit Kaur and second runner-up Bharti were among the students who came dressed in traditional Punjabi dress. On this occasion, the college campus was decorated with Punjabi phulkaris and dupattas and stalls of kheer, malpude, and henna, Churriyan etc. were also set up. During the program, the swing in multi color was the center of attraction. On this occasion, Program Convener Head Department of Zoology Dr. Gagandeep Kaur congratulated the College Governing Council, Principal, staff and all the students. Prof. Jasreen Kaur Vice-Principal said that a society that respects women always makes progress. During the program, Dr. Harjinder Singh, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, Dept. of Punjabi and Prof. Sandeep Kaur Dept. of History managed the stage well. On this occasion, apart from the heads of various departments, all the staff and students of the college thoroughly enjoyed the festival.

ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਮੌਰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬੜੇ ਚਾਅ ਤੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤ, ਗਿੱਧਾ, ਗਰੁੱਪ ਡਾਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਲੋ ਡਾਂਸ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬੜੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ, ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਧੀਆ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਾਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਹਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਬੜਾ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਣ 'ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਲੀਕਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਕਲਚਰਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇਹਾ ਲੋਕ ਗੀਤ, ਰਵਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਦਸਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਧਾ ਨੇ ਮਿਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਜਦਕਿ ਨਾਨ-ਟੀਚਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਰੇਖਾ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਡਾਂਸ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਡਾਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਲੋਕਨਾਚ ਗਿੱਧਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਵਿਚ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਿਸ ਤੀਜ਼ ਨਤਾਸ਼ਾ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਰਨਰਅੱਪ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਰਨਰਅੱਪ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਹੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫੁਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੁਪੱਟਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਖੀਰ, ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਤੇ ਚੂੜੀਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਲ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਪੀਂਘ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਰਹੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕੰਨਵੀਨਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁਖੀ ਜੁਆਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਟੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨ-ਟੀਚਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਗਵਰਨਿੰਗ ਕੌਂਸਲ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਭ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਾਜ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਵੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਨਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੂਚਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨਨ ਇਕ ਸਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਕਦਮ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੰਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੰਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਢੱਡਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ।
