National Sports Day was celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is always ready for the holistic development of the students. Lyallpur Khalsa College has been involved in providing opportunities for students in the field of sports as well as academics. Under this, the birthday of hockey wizard Dhyan Chand was celebrated as the National Sports Day in College. Coach Mr. Avtar Singh from Surjit Hockey Academy was the Chief Guest. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Dean Sports welcomed him with a bouquet. Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed about the contribution of Lyallpur Khalsa College in the field of sports and future goals. He said that our institute is committed to providing world-class facilities to the players, provided the students play their game with full dedication to the game with unity and concentration of mind, body, and soul. He apprised the students about the contribution made by hockey wizard Dhyan Chand in sports and asked him to take inspiration from him in his life. The chief guest of the function Mr. Avtar Singh advised the athletes to set individual goals and to work with dedication and discipline for the success at national and international level. He also encouraged the students to participate in sports with honesty, loyalty, and true sportsmanship. On this occasion, student-athletes cross country race was conducted in which first 11 athletes got prizes.  At last Dean Sports Dr. R.S. Sandhu paid vote of thanks. The stage was conducted by Dr. R.S. Sandhu and Prof. Satpal Singh. Apart from the coaches of the students S. Davinderpal Singh (Hockey), S. Sarabjit Singh (Basketball), Dr. Amritpal Singh Nindrayog, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Karanbir Singh, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Surbjit Singh, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Manvir Pal, Mr. Jagdish Singh, Mr. Amrit Lal Saini and others staff members and students were also present on this occasion.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੱਤਪਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਹਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਦਿਵਸ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਹਾਕੀ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਚ ਸ. ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਤੌਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਲਦਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਟੀਚਿਆਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਲਈ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲਗਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂਗਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਏ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸ. ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਟੀਚੇ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੁਰ ਦਸਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ, ਨਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਖੇਡ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਾਸ ਕੰਟਰੀ ਦੌੜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ 11 ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੌੜਾਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਚ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਸ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਕੀ, ਸ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਸਕਿਟਬਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਡਾ. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿੰਦਰਾਯੋਗ, ਡਾ. ਦਿਨਕਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਕਰਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਵੀਰ ਪਾਲ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲਾਲ ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
