Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes One Day Blood Donation Camp

NSS Unit & Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with PIMS Jalandhar and Blood Connect organized One Day Blood Donation Camp in the college campus. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh inaugurated the camp. In his address, he informed that there are only 8 donors per thousand people in India. Due to road accidents, thalassemia and other medical conditions patients requiring blood have increased in the last decade. He added that blood donation is the supreme donation. Later, he donated his blood to inspire the young students of the college. NSS Chief Program officer Prof. Satpal Singh told that NSS volunteers held placards to motivate the students to donate blood. There was more than 60 footfall for this camp.  During this camp, Prof. Soman Goyal and Prof. Annie Goyal also donated blood. The event was witnessed by Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, Prof. Upma, Prof. Surbjit Singh, Prof. Amandeep Kaur and Prof. Heminder Singh.

ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੀ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਯੂਨਿਟ ਅਤੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੇ ਪਿਮਸ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਲੱਡ ਕਨੈਕਟ ਐਨ.ਜੀ.ਓ. ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 8 ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਖੂਨ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸਿਆਂ, ਥੈਲੇਸੀਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਖੂਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਫੀ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਦਾਨ ਹੈ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੋਗਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਖੂਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਈ 60 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਸੋਮਨ ਗੋਇਲ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਐਨੀ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁਖੀ ਜੁਆਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਡਾ. ਉਪਮਾ ਅਰੋੜਾ, ਡਾ. ਕਰਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਹੋਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੇਲ ਚੰਦ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
