Lyallpur Khalsa College is known for carrying forward the heritage of Bhangra and taking it to international level. This Mecca of Bhangra is organizing Punjabi Folk Dance Bhangra Camp from 11th July to 20th July 2024. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Principal Prof. A meeting was held regarding the planning and implementation of the camp under the leadership of Jasreen Kaur and Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in which it was said that Bhangra not only entertains but also keeps the body fit. This dance form is also internationally recognized. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that this camp is for all age groups and there is no registration fee. Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina said that this camp is organized every year in the college campus by the team of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. National Cadet Corps (Army Wing) Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organised a farewell function for the C certificate pass out cadets. The function was presided over by Principal Professor Jasreen Kaur. On this occasion, Colonel Parveen Kabatiyal, Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab NCC battalion was the chief guest. Students participated in various cultural activities like dance, folk song, bhangra etc. Cadet Abhishek and Simran moderated the program on stage. Cadet Ardeep Kaur and Jagdeep Singh sung a duet song. Cadet Gudiya Verma danced on the Haryanvi, Himachali and Bhojpuri songs. Cadets performed the Bhangra led by SUO Jaspreet. In the event, Senior Under Officer Diksha and Under Officer Varsha was given that title of Miss farewell and Miss Gorgeous, respectively. Under Officer Harman was declared as Mr. farewell. Principal Jasreen conveyed her well wishes to their cadets through her speech. Commanding Officer Colonel Praveen Kabthiyal said that the NCC training program inculcates a sense of responsibility and commitment among the cadets. Dr. Suman Chopra, Head of the History department also gave her compliments to cadets for organising such a wonderful Farewell Party.
